Scruuge (seasonal event)

Event Summary

The Scruuge are a sect of radical idealists, motivated by greed and deeply envious of others. The Scruuge claim that the galaxy is too overpopulated, and they directly interfere with trade and government aid programs, especially during busy seasonal trade cycles. Ships are asked to engage and reclaim any gifts taken by the Scruuge if found.

During The Scruuge event (11dec2024 to 11jan2025), the following effects apply to the entire Galaxy:

* Completing Daily missions will sometimes reward a bonus 'Scruuge Resupply Depot'.
* Builders and Guards that complete Daily Missions will earn bonus 'Star Chart Purger' artifacts.
* The Scruuge will sometimes blockade random planets. Scruuge Hijacker
* During planetary scans, players of Rank 20+ will sometimes find a 'Scruuge Keystone' as well as upgrades to them 
 (higher chances based on your ship size), including:
 Scruuge Keystone II Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone III Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone IV Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone V Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone VI Upgrade.
* The 'Scruuge Perimeter' Zone is available to Influence.

* Completing Daily missions will sometimes reward a bonus 'Scruuge Resupply Depot'.
* Builders and Guards that complete Daily Missions will earn bonus 'Star Chart Purger' artifacts.
* The Scruuge will sometimes blockade random planets. Scruuge Hijacker
* During planetary scans, players of Rank 20+ will sometimes find a 'Scruuge Keystone' as well as upgrades to them 
 (higher chances based on your ship size), including:
 Scruuge Keystone II Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone III Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone IV Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone V Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone VI Upgrade.
* The 'Scruuge Perimeter' Zone is available to Influence.

2024A

A Time Breach has resulted in a significant rise in violent activity between the Terran Outsiders and the Scruuge. The clash has spilled into the surrounding regions, and ships are asked to confront such offenders.

During the Farselle Incursion Winter's Breach event 2024 (20jan to 18feb), the following temporary effects apply to the entire Galaxy:

* Planet colonizations will sometimes cause the 'Archotage Power Grid' effect.
* 'The Archotage' daily mission will unlock after completing Ravyn's Return (Rank 500+)
* During planetary scans, players of Rank 20+ will sometimes find 'Universal Omni-Harvester' and 'Scruuge Keystone' as well as upgrades to them 
 (higher chances based on your ship size), including:
 Scruuge Keystone II Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone III Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone IV Upgrade, Scruuge Keystone V Upgrade.
* The Scruuge will sometimes blockade random planets. Scruuge Hijacker
* Completing Daily missions will sometimes reward a bonus 'Scruuge Resupply Depot'.
* Veterans who have played for at least a year will sometimes earn a 'Gift of the Far Futures' during daily rewards.
