Just a quick question for everyone what is the point of mining planets ...I can see the point of other planets e.g. research and artefact but what’s the point if mining planets :?:

To get credits to build stuff and pay for your ship upkeep/repairs.

good point but couldn’t you just get credits from selling crap arties and daily rewards of credits ? also is it better to focus on mining planets or research and artefacts planets?

At the higher rank and research tiers installing ship modules will cost billions of credits and the daily upkeep hundreads of millions scrap value on arti's will not cover that cost so a reasonable set of mining planets is essential. IMHO a balance of the 3 will set you up well during the early ranks but as you progress focus will shift. Ultimately theirs only so much you can research so at some point they will become redundant planets.

Yes like him say, go look the 2 last module of each section in the wiki. You will understand why scrap arti credit is really useless and you need MANY credit to pay your upkeep.

As other said that mining becomes more useful as your research tech gets high to maintain your ship upkeep..

Also, you will see more high-rank missions that would require lot of exotic matter that comes from mining production..

However, mining will become even more useful once legion base comes out because it would require lot of exotic matter as well..

with higher research you need tons of credit to build a single module.

Heavy Quasi-Chaotic Blaster 55 +427 7.763 20,500,000,000 CR, 4,800 Kurenite 1,025,000,000 CR
Heavy Obviator Shield 52 +559 10.750 1,300,000,000 CR, 60 Aidoniu 65,000,000 CR
Trans-Entropy Drive - Mark III102 +820 8.04 10,000,000,000 CR, 150 Aidonium 250,000,000 CR
Exergonic Inverter - Mark III 94 +626 6.660 2,500,000,000 CR, 50 Aidonium 125,000,000 CR
Perfect Syncopated Plating 43 +1105 3,200,000,000 CR, 75 Aidonium
Proxy-Universe Reactor-Mk IV 50 +540 9,900,000,000 CR, 150 Aidonium 495,000,000 CR

these are just examples of modules you need at the end of your research.. and its a big time problem if you dont have good mining planets
