It is what it says on the tin.

Delete any planet from your list any-time for whatever reason.

Thanks

You have to use Star Chart Purgers. It's part of the balance of the game, otherwise everybody would just find all the best planets right away.

yeah, but as a beginning player (first few levels) you are still getting familiar with the game, and if you are unlucky enough you can have a list of worthless planets. maybe allow starting players a free chance to purge a few times in order to get set up in the game? remove the ability when they hit a certain level?

also, make them immune to invades till they reach a given level? this new badge system can sure make um targets.

they already are immune to invading, they have until level 20 or one (two?) weeks, which ever comes first.

but I do think that low levels should get this ability for until maybe level ten. and I'd say maybe once a level. so a total of 9 times (not counting level 1). and I say don't give this ability to people who reset their accounts. because if they've gotten to level 78 or so, they've learned a decent amount about the game. they know what kinds of planets to go after. they don't necessarily need to purge their planets. plus, they know the risk their taking of resetting their accounts.

i dont agree that you should be able to get rid of planets at will at earlier stages but maybe if you are a lower rank you get a higher chance to get a star purger for less artifact points. My friend that I got playing has found 66 planets so far. His highest research output planet is a VL very abundant and everything else is worthless when it comes to research. Obviously he has ridiculously low research output per hour and has fallen very far behind in tech for his level.

Research scanners, build artifact production for purgers. What rank is he?

but higher level charicters know what they are doing, and can certainly ask others for assistance. the lowest levels are naive, just learning the rules, and more prone to rash decisions. Also we aren't talking about rough luck of a higher level charicter. I doubt very seriously you have seen a level 1 or 2 with 66 planets on their scan....more like 2 or 3 to choose from.

Ive had two friends quit this game because the first 20 planets they scanned were all worthless, and the only very rich mining planet available was taken by a level 100 enemy.

Every noob had to learn some hard lessons. I have a couple of average-sized planets that remind me where I came from...

I disagree with this suggestion because it would allow someone playing multiple characters to scan, purge, scan, purge, scan purge... end up with a much higher chance of having good worlds, and upon hitting level 20, share them to their primary account.

Yeah, if you get planets that are bad enough you don't think you'll be able to manage right from the start then you can just reset and try again; it's not like you'd've done very much at that point, so you've got nothing to lose.

I among others grabbed the first available planets to use, i think i grabbed a few too many.
but when i get TD or QSE's or other artifacts to increase size and production i usually add it to my suckiest planet to make it less sucky, so far its gone pretty good doing this, might go slow, but im gonna get all my planets to atleast large+ and rich+, no matter if it takes 5 more years to get all arties for it. :D

Here is a different idea:
have it so a new player's first planet scanned is automatically an average barren planet with all average resources.

That's a pretty good idea.

even I had some tiny's and smalls I had to suck it up and use gp to abandon planets and still use star chart purgers to drop anything tiny small very small from scans

the idea of first planet being avg size with average resources across the board is good but I wouldnt limit it to barren

As long as it's average/avg/avg/avg, the only factor the planet type has on it is what you might be able to transform it into later. Barren actually has a couple options for this now, so it woulnd't be a terrible starter rock.

Here's another option, you could give a new pilot 3 specialty planet purgers. They'd be like the Aegis shield. Non-transferable, and non-replacable after a reroll.
