Thanks for looking at my post. I'm mostly PVP, NPC at least until I get the 1k raid badge. Though when I can't kill anyone I sink energy into the Zolazin chain, at least until I get the extra NPC slots.

I also carry enough scan to find the elite NPC's for my rank.

Rank 123

ATK 1495
DEF 1057
Scn 221

Kills 719
Deaths 140

Well you need some serious improvements...

Your ship NEEDS a lot more decks. I feel you are pretty well off in PvP/NPCs for now; try focusing on missions for a while.

Use ALL rank points on decks until you hit at least 2,000 (you'll be rank 250 or so)...

Uninstall the 2 Atmospheric Decimators, 2 Decryption Quad Frames, 2 Hunt Sensors, and 2 Transponders.

Then, install all 3 Mark IV Zero-Point Reactors and 4 X-conduit Mark III's. You might also want to research Transconduits.

After that, install all 5 Hull Modules. If you have any remaining space, install another defense module. You want to be able to "tank" any attacks if someone is trying to disable you, as you will be focusing on missions.

Finally, you need to raise your production. Get research and mining to at least 2k/hr, and arti to at least 1.5k/hr for now. Eventually, you want Artifacts to be the highest out of all.

I heavily disagree with this. I stopped using rank points on decks at 1450 decks (approximately rank 160) and it's gone very well. I would personally recommend against installing 3 energy cores and 4 relays, particularly with sparse decks and a largely PvP play style. If you have no plans on changing your gameplay, I would recommend between one and two energy cores and the relays (enough that, when offline for your longest offline periods, your energy doesn't cap). Then just install cores before ranking, and uninstall after.

Otherwise, I agree with filling up the core modules (hulls, defenses, weapons).

I would say get out of builder as soon as you can, there are much more beneficial professions out there like fixer and excavator. To make up for that bring your mining up. Keep researching planetary research and improve your production in all three a lot, with the main focus on arti. Uninstall all your cloak/scan mods, until you reach the bare minimum you need to see the necessary elites, try to look for the most space efficient way of doing this. Install remaining energy mods, and then focus on maxing out hull and weapons. You should probably research better hull as well, up to about neutronium. Only keep one researched defense on for now while you work on maxing out hull and weapons, once you've maxed them, begin working on maxing out your defense. I would also say get your decks up a lot.

You're certainly rocking a light deck build, but there is no problem with that. Making the most of your decks is the main thing.

If you're PvP heavy, you need to bring your hull and attack up. Your defence is okay so long as it's over your decks. Maxing hull and attack is a priority, as well as keeping your defence respectable. Please, DO NOT PUT ANY MORE RESEARCH INTO WEAPONS. It's a pet-peeve of mine for gun-nuts to have null rays and maneuvering thrusters. Of course, my example is a little extreme, but you should definately put a bit more research into defence before doing better weapons. Nexus Grids would also go a long way to keeping your hull respectable.

Your ship NEEDS a lot more decks.

I put all my rank points into deck and have been almost exclusively since rank 60 or so. Though I do feel small for my rank. Here is my crew compliment.

Engineers 130
Tactical 126
Helm 156
Scientist 134

Uninstall all your cloak/scan mods, until you reach the bare minimum you need to see the necessary elites, try to look for the most space efficient way of doing this.

That scan is 200, so I'm just barely over that. No change in scan devices

I would recommend between one and two energy cores and the relays (enough that, when offline for your longest offline periods, your energy doesn't cap)

Im already at this point. no change

After that, install all 5 Hull Modules. If you have any remaining space, install another defense module. You want to be able to "tank" any attacks if someone is trying to disable you, as you will be focusing on missions.

Does this imply that hull is more important that defense? By uninstalling 2 of my def mods I would gain about 110 deck space. The 3 remaining hull mods would get me about 1200 more hull but i would lose 460 defense. Then I could also install another hvy Antiproton at that point and a phase cannon or something(20 deck).

You can't tank with hull alone unless you're a SSB. You can use a subspace seeker and tachycon cylinder instead of scan modules whilst NPCing, the energy spent will be made up for in the extra space available allowing you to fight better or add the final core.

konqul must always excel in attack. so increase the number of weapons on your ship. shouldnt have any problem with the upkeep. except the fact that your not making much cr. increase mining. hull, and def as well to ensure you wont get disabled to often. rearrange your modules according to your play style.

It's all about getting the balance right, you should probably take off one defense and add 1-2 more hulls, that and research better hulls. You low decks will help make up for the drop in defense.

Its the classic phillosophy of tank vs. Meat shield ( AC vs. HP ). At low levels most that pvp are interested in fast easy kills, take that away and they will most likely loose interest. Personally i always favor defence, so my early game build didnt have alot of hull, but i was not a very appealing target either. You just need to find what works for you, after you get that down you ship will fall into place pretty quickly.

At your rank I was running a very unorthodox build, meant to discourage people from hitting further, unless they had enough scan to see what I was actually running :P

I was all shields and defense, with zero hull, at rank 130 I was actually at 200 hull, 2000 shields, and 3k defense. It actually worked very well on the common player, but it's mighty risky alright.

Take note back then there were no legion bases, the standard of ships was much lower, so 2k shields was actually very high.
