This effect lasts 10 seconds and you must NOT attack the NPC again while under this effect. This will ensure that your energy lost is restored once the effect wears off of your ship.

Recommended Strategy

Attack SLOWLY!

When the NPC fires its pulse drain, it will put an effect on your ship called "Energy Drain" with the effect: Energy -99.99%. This effect lasts 10 seconds and you must NOT attack the NPC again while under this effect. This will ensure that your energy lost is restored once the effect wears off of your ship.

If you attack the NPC again while still under the effect, The energy loss will be permanent and you will have to restore your energy.
