3 bucks for 20 points to change your race. Three to four days using many resources and time to change your race.....PRICELESS
It would make more sense to me if the prize was something you could not get from Galaxy points. Kinda like the Zolazin jammer. Could use the jammer while having two other jammers. I thought the device was going to be a weapon. And I do not mind paying for the deveplopers gotta eat too.

Dont you get it. SOME OF US DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR SOMETHING IN A GAME. This is one of the best rewards you could get if you were a non-payer.

Oh yeah! I just don't like chasing ships around that don't pop up. They may have popped up for you but I only seen two since this mission started. Then in the end the reward was not what I thought it to be. In the future I (not you) will find out the prize before I put in all my resources and time. Like I stated I like the race I picked when I started this game. Enjoy your free game play dude

There are also missions that require NPC kills, one of the one I see needs 25 and has a Crimson Shrieker as a reward. I don't know what it is but it looks cool. My advice is to fight the NPCs now before they turn on NPC shield regeneration.

They have been popping up more for me recently, little level 10s that I can take out in just a few shots...

I do not know what a Crimson Shrieker is, but it probably drops something cool I would reckon... someone else was asking what it was too.

What makes you think " NPC shield regeneration " is coming ? Are you a DEV ? Is the Crimson Shrieker REWARD worth input effort, what is the mission name & energy requirement ? What is Crimson Shrieker & what are its specs ?

Dan has already posted saying that it is coming, elsewhere on the forums. He hasn't said when though.

Spoiler below. Hilight text to read.

The Crimson Shrieker mission is called Crimson Confrontation. Qualification for the mission is from battle experience. It's a mission that takes 20 tries and it unlocks a new challenge after 5 completions. It costs 60 energy and has a reward of 130 experience (2.16 xp per energy). It also says that the completion reward is a BATTLE with the Crimson Shrieker. The mission has no risks or bonus chances to get something.

I haven't completed it yet so I don't know what the Crimson Shrieker is like, nor what the next mission is.

Spoiler end.

Any idea, or recommendation as to what level one should be to say even complete this mission once? Ie: get 10 sets of debris?

I'm mid-30's and am working on my 4th NPC, but have yet to see a zolazin ship. One of the NPC's on my radar is level 45, and the other is level 30. They kick my butt! LOL! I take massive damage. Every time I disable one, they seem to be replaced by one of higher level.

It will take me a long time at this rate...

I can not give you a recomendation because I do not know your HANDICAP level. I do realize at this point mine is very HIGH, levied why or by what degenerate sadistic a$$hole, I have no idea. What I will tell you is what it took ME to Disable my first NPC !

1] Attacked with 7, [seven], Heavy Ion Cannons.
2] Had Defense of about 100+.
3] Had Shields at 200+,
4] Purchased the Shield Doubling Artifact to bring my shields to 400+.
5] Had to purchase 2 Shield refills.
5] With an energy Refill, it took me well over 500 energy points.
6] Also had to repair my Hull twice.

I was a Rank 58, now a 59. I quit after my 3rd NPC, [ without seeing a Zolazin ], because I also saw they got stronger after each time I disabled one, and thus were harder to disable !
You have to judge whether the reward is worth the expenditure based your historical expenditure and anticipated future estimated expenditure. Not even close to worth it for me ! I don't mind a challenge but see no reason to utilize my resources foolishly at any level !

This is what I have learned through mmy Minor PvP and PvE experiences, and has helped me start to get through the NPC ships with some Regularity:

1. Hulls are better than shields for Active combat, you can repair hulls once every 5 minutes for $$$ while you cannot repair shields, you must wait for them to regenerate (and unlike energy there is no shield 'relay')
2. You can have a lot of defense but if you don't have enough Hulls or shields you will still get 4 shot-ed, likewise if you have a lot of hulls or shields but not enough defense you will still get four shotted.
3. Cloaks help reduce damage due to 'critical strikes' by reducing the chances of them getting a critical strike, it's good to have a little cloak on you.
4. Scanners increase the chances you will get a critical strike, however the extra damage on occasion generally doesn't warrant using scanners, they are a waste unless you have maxed out more useful areas.
5. Hull is cheep. And it;s not broken anymore, 200 shields woudl probably allow you to get an 8th heavy Ion cannon and 400 hull.
6. For ranks int he 60s and 70s you get alot of rank 55 to rank 75 NPCs, if they are rank 65 or less they can be taken down without refill if you have a high defence 7 graviton sheerers, and about 400 hull.
6a. ( It basically means you have to unequip everything and devote your space to weapons thrusters and hull.) if they are the higher ranks and are 'war' ships you will need to repair several times in order to eat through the NPCs
7. Usually you can drop an NPC with only 10 to 25 tries, (so 50 to 125 energy) so you will need to keep micro-managing your set-up, by unequipped weapons and hulls and re-equipping relays)
8. Zolazin ships are VERY low level (Rank 20) and are much easier to kill than I expected. If you are a low enough rank you should be seeing them constantly.

If you tell me your specs (Total Decks, Best Hull, Best Weapon, Best Defence, + your special items) and the levels of the ships you are seeing, I could do the setup config for you but I think I've probably given you enough info that you should be able to.. You are on the right track trying to beet their levels of attack and defense.

Spoiler: Yes there is. It's a reward from one of the rare NPC's. I've got one. And you can equip four of them so I can get three more.

Well I figured there might be a few other rare/special/teir artifacts besides the one I already have, my point was that there were no ones you could research. However point made, they do have a set of 'relays' of sorts. ^^

I have taken out a couple level 70 Zolazin ships... the description called them the workhorses of the Zolazin race. And I figure, taking them out as a level 61 was pretty cool, though everyone can probably do it with patience and credits until webguydan makes them regenerate damage.

I finally got a zolazin spy on my radar, one of the smallest NPCs I've seen in a while. It's a level 30 Zolazin Shade XI spy. Shields 200, Hull 100, Att 120, Def 100. It should take me about 20 shots to drop. It hits me about twice as hard as I hit it.

I am one of the balanced non-paying players, level 36. I find myself researching faster than I can install decks. In several instances, I have skipped technologies. I do equip/unequip all the time.

I have 197 decks. Att 84, Def 62, Scan 68, Cloak 67

As a new player, I have a question about missions like "The Zolazin Battle". What happens when it expires? Does a new mission appear every 2 weeks? Is the mission random or is it the same mission for everyone? Will "The Zolazin Battle" reappear at some point?

From the comments here, I see I have no chance of getting enough debris in time to complete it 3 times. I would have difficulties completing it even once. On the other hand, if the mission reappears at some point in the future, I should be able to accumulate enough debris before it does (it would take some cargo space though).

Missions like 'The Zolazin Battle' are part of story arcs that appear in realtime for Galaxy Legion. After the entire story completes, it will be re-tuned (usually at a higher rank) and archived as a normal mission chain. If you want to wait for it to appear in this way, it could take a couple months, as each chapter in the story lasts 2 weeks.

I'm a level 141, but i was 120-ish when i completed the Zolazin attacking mission
as far as i know, there are no specific requirements to be able to see them, i completed it relatively quickly, with a couple of weeks, and i have completed the chron shifter mission 2/5 times, quite a good reward from both missions i think :!: :)
