We have a LOT of people asking questions in our group and I thought it might be a good idea to share what we have found so far. If you guys want to add tips post your suggestions and I will update this.
The Base Itself: 1) There are 6 known levels. 2) Each level unlocks a new base images. 3) Changing the base image or name costs 100 energy points 4) Your base has a 24 hr timer starting from when it was created.
Contributions: 1) You must reach AI Logistics research tier of the new research branch (very bottom of research) to contribute to base levels 3 or higher. 2) You may contribute "materials" and your name will show on the base with your percentage of the total contributions. 3) Materials that can be contributed are Energy, Exotic Matter or Complex Tech Parts. 4) Once a requirement (such as exotic matter) is met for that level it will lock out meaning the base will not accept anymore contributions of that particular material. 5) Energy contributions give you 110% experience. If you contribute 100 energy, you get 110 experience points. 6) You can use research to improve your tech capability but it CANNOT be contributed to the base.
Special Modules 1) The Commerce Module allows the Legion Base to work like an ATM. Anyone can contribute and you may set who is able to withdraw. The settings are Leaders only, Leaders and Officers, Entire Legion.
Resource Production 1) Based on the base timer, your base will release a portion of the resourced to everyone in your legion once every 24 hours.
Suggestions: 1) Do NOT let one player contribute a huge portion of any particular material. This will lead to other players from being able to contribute. 2) Until the base reaches its maximum bonuses focus on one type of resource production.

Are you positive about the base giving that experience return? I had been giving me 1.8; I'd deposit 2000 energy and get 3600 experience.

energy contributions are at a decreasing exp return ratio, for instance i am only getting a 1.1 ratio, so 100 energy gets 110 exp.

Nope, must be some kind of sliding scale because 100 energy just gave me 110 experience. I corrected the primer

Energy - Experience 500 - 550 1000 - 1100 1500 - 1650 2000 - 2200
So it is 110%. Dan must have changed it because I know it was giving MUCH higher yesterday.

has anyone of a low rank given energy? I wonder if the experience given for energy is inversely related to rank.

It seemed to me it was related to the level of the base.
At base level 3 I was getting 1.3 and at level 4 it was 1.1

The xp to energy ratio decreases as the base moves up in levels.

Anybody know what the Embassy module does? I've been looking around and haven't seen an answer.

What about the repair bay? Our legion has focused on production items not the others.

Also note, the Repair Bay won't repair you if you have still have a repair timer going (meaning you still can't repair more than once in five minutes with Repair Nanodrones or Time Manipulators).

Just common sense -- don't set commerce bay to "all members", as it's pretty obvious anyone that leaves can take the credits before they do. Just saying since I think that's the initial setting, CHANGE IT quickly if you haven't.

So I have a new question, sense you can use docking ports to increase max legion size does the legion bonus to planets cap out at 100% or does it continue to increase and does the same apply to the legion loyalty bonus to the base?

I've seen legion bonuses greater than 100% so that does go up. I would assume the same is true with loyalty.

It's far safer that way unless you don't trust your own leaders lol. I had seen some leaders from other MMOs to take all money when they quit or leave to other guilds.. That'll be very awful thing to do.. If you don't trust your own leaders, you are better off joining other legions where you feel safer with your contributions..

Fortunately for us, no one voluntarily leaves the Dysonians.
For good reason.
