The idea I propose is just to allow more options to improve one's production or ship by trading different types of materials/artifacts.
The Idea
A randomized market that refreshes every day and gives new different artifacts that can improve one's production or ship when a player has enough materials to trade for it like the theory lab.
Things I like to have added or randomized and refreshed daily (Only 1 of each artifact per day): (Give me your ideas of randomized artifacts if you want)
1. Planetary artifact structures that can be achieved when the artifacts required are ready to trade. 2. Artifacts (seperate ones randomly for each day) that boost a planets production by 1 for a certain amounts of artifacts. 3. Artifacts (seperate ones randomly for each day) boost production by a certain % for a certain number of hours. 4. Random artifacts you can trade for other artifacts. (Ex: 50 Crimson Obelisks for 50 Time Manipulators)
Edit: The rarity and requirements to trade with the shop increases as you reach certain ranks, but you can still get unlucky with common artifacts to trade with.

I dont see why we should reward players for just picking up artifact points from theire planets and building up a huge stock of artifacts that can be traded in for planet upgrades
if you want artifacts that boost planet production, go play the game and kill some NPC or bases instead...

Some people use a lot of artifacts in a day just to build stuff and npcing to get artifact boosts can take a while. Players can have an incentive to get new artifacts from the shop. The randomized shop does not just stop at production boosting artifacts and can also extend to more varieties of artifacts to boost a player's ship. It is a small boost for everyone for logging in daily and getting the required amount of artifacts to get these new artifacts. I'm talking about new players here too, and you cannot exclude then from the equation to get them to play the game more with a daily refreshed market.

yeah, -1 to staight trading of artis. a couple new ct.lab recipes maybe, but not a separate trading market. as DarkMar said, arti production is over.emphasized as it is. instead, you could offer a market for 10k aidonium which would be a bit more of a challenge. of course, this would bias the market towards higher ranks who have much more cargo space. political favour is something that i think would work for temporary boosts to planetary production. the other material that could be used for a new market might be xts-9, but the values for those lots have recently been increasing on the GTC, despite Topper's attempts to flood the market if you really want low.ranks to benefit ... use zolazin debris ... as far as i know, there are very few higher ranks that farm it ...

A definite yes to your ideas here. Another material that doesn't get much attention is the prejoran tech.

Some of the artifacts do not require much as well to barter.

The purpose of my idea is to have a market that is a combination of a flee market and a farmers market. Flee market for rare valuables for recipes and a farmers market for increaded mineral significance.

buying artifacts with minerals would be pointless... once you have 30 tril credits, it not a problem simply buying whatever menerals you need for the farmers market
get your mining up to 80K+ units pr hour and it more or less the same with EM, you pick up more of it then you need for legion missions

Remember that the artifact appears only once in a while or multiple times in a row if you are lucky. Maybe 80k units per hour is not enough if legion missions are consecutively being done very quickly with a highly active legion that does legion missions a lot. At some point, you might not have enough exotic matter and need it because of possibly not collecting minerals efficiently enough or you are losing too much of it, too fast. That is why I consider bartering more minerals for more exotic matter because that can save and allow you to finish the legion mission. I'm thinking about having every randomized new artifact have a different randomized requirement each time, so you might need more materials.

This idea would need some sort of sink.
A similar idea that I'd had involved a Base Module which provided access to a menu similar to the CTLab. With it, you could turn Artifacts into Materials such as CTP and EM. For example, 100 Crimson Obelisks could net you a random amount of CTP between 10 and 100, or nothing at all.
Anyway, my point is that you need to put in more than you get. High ranks are just sitting on tens of thousands of Artifacts and trillions of Credits, and it's really unhealthy for the game on the whole.

The randomized market might require a total of an infinite amount of artifacts required each day by chance. Some days might require more to get all the artifacts in the market and some days it requires less, while on certain days, a rare artifact requires more artifacts to trade. Example: A day might have a lot of rare artifacts that require a like around 2000 for all artifacts and another day might require 4000 for all artifacts based on rarity and, while the rarity of artifacts and better ones maybe increase as people reach higher ranks just like minerals. Speaking of minerals, some artifacts require more minerals than others and special items might cost more as people have more to trade off as they rank. In this case it is totally random and can quickly reduce the amount of artifacts a person has within a week or two.

you dont get the point Ludis ask yourself then, Who would benefit the most the markets you sugest ?
the new low rank players you say you want to help or high rank players like me that have 1 mil artifacts sitting in my cargo and a few tril credits saved up
I wouldnt mind beeing able to simply buy planet upgrades from marked daily to upgrade the production on my planets if an artifact on your farmers marked cost 1.000 Aidonium = 17 bil credits or even 10.000 Aidonium = 170 bil credits I would simply buy it, get the artifact and do the same the next day, and the next and the next and the next..if the upgrades are worth it
and it would be more or less the same with standart artifacts, have Crimson Obelisk (Uses Left: 48.446), and unless I just hit the TC lab or have given some to a friend that needed it for a mission, I have 2000+ of ALL common artifact you can get from artifact points sitting in my cargo
a rank 200 player, that started 1 year ago just doesnt have the same options, and wont be able to pay 10+ bil credits pr day to get an artifact from your farmers marked
so instead of helping New players, get started in the game this will only make the players that already have a lot of credits and high artifact production and already log in daily even stronger...
and if you dont have to work to get planet upgrades, a lot more players might stop ranking and just collect artifact points, to upgrade theire planets and make theire ships stronger
personaly I dont think you should get a reward for just logging in to collect your artifact points and not actualy play the game
if you want to give players rewards like this, make it a random Daily missions where you have to...
disable 10 enemy ships and use an artifact on them find and disable 10 matched common/uncommon NPC's (NPC unlocks if you get the mission, and disapear again when you finish it) kill 20 ships from an NPC fraction (crimson blades, Dark Smugglers Guild, The Stryll Order or Rogue Science League) raid 5 enemy ships... scan 3 to 5 planets and use artifacts on them raid an enemy base...
(more or less the same tasks you already have to do for legion missions - but ofcourse reduced in dificulty so most players should be able to finish them in 24 hours or less)
that way you are rewarding players for actualy playing the game, instead of sitting on theire hands and just colecting artifacts and credits

It applies to all ranks and each day gives random artifacts to trade with, requiring more or less artifacts per day. The possibilities of other artifacts besides planet upgrades are probable if Dan decides to actually have a one timer artifact in my market, whether it is a one time recipe to buy or a one time artifact to buy. While some random artifacts are quintessential to high ranks, some of them may be useful for low ranks and vice versa because they will probably be better than the stock artifacts we have sitting in our cargo. I have already suggested having daily rewards before and that was my previous idea. Daily rewards for daily completed tasks is still a good idea though.

I have already suggested having daily rewards before and that was my previous idea. Daily rewards for daily completed tasks is still a good idea though. That's just a "little" difficult for low ranks to do, especially if its asking for untradable artis (chassis, among other things). Sure, maybe the requirements scaling with rank might work, but if it also requires rank to unlock better artis, then it's just unfair. That's the main issue Darkmar is talking about. HIgher ranks could just log on and wait til the day that what they want shows up, and cash in getting all they need. While lower ranks will be struggling to save up for the fateful day something good pops up and pray it's a good price, or waste their artis on something that isn't truly worthwhile due to lack of understanding.

That is where high ranks comes in to help low ranks get the artifacts they need for possible quintessential artifacts they can use now or later. With that, people have an increased incentive to trade and maybe get more into the game. I doubt any extremely rare artifact would require that much artifacts that they cannot barter what they got for it. In other words, sharing is caring for any rank.
There might be some artifacts that do not require non-tradeable artifacts and give good rewards for trade, but comes only once in a while if you are lucky. This is to have a balance with people giving artifacts to others.
