You still don't get it..... Why set a starting price of 25k CTP if it requires a bid of 30k CTP to become a valid auction? Someone can bid 25k CTP, which you have specified as a valid bid; then be told the auction is invalid later. If you want a minimum of 30k CTP for the planet, set that as your opening bid amount.

If it is only valid at 30k, why not start at 30k? |

Main reason is to establish a list of interested bidders. Its a psychological thing.

New post is better. Only thing I would add is anti-snipe protection since, as Trinity said, everyone snipes these days. Otherwise, a much clearer post.
