I wouldn't need halc's if I never had to worry about pvp or pvp badages. just let me click a button that goes "never be in pvp again" and I would. Ugg! I cant believe that this gets brought up so much..What is up with you people? opt out of PvP? Maybe the pvp system isnt broken at all, maybe its the players that are broken. edit..... you're all a bunch of babies...stop crying about PvP, stop crying about halcs, stop crying about the damage cap.Hell, just stop crying..ffs this is how the game works, ADAPT you freaks and PLAY THE F'ING GAME ALREADY!!!

I do not mind them. I have used them when wanting to NPC with hull dropped or planet scans.
I only HATE them when the guy/gal using them have a name like "The Fighter" or "Death from above" " Psycho Killa"
There should be some algorithims that prevent Halcs with those types of names. Only allow names like " Professor of Science" or " Endless Explorer" use them.
I think this has potential.

Why should the galaxy be in a constant state of war? I feel that such advanced races should have evolved passed primiative state. At very least to their own, Hell even if say we couldn't see our own race on the battle tab it would be a step in the right direction.

wow, 3 voices of sanity in a row ??? a new forum record ?? Darth Flagitious wrote: Planet invading is just the tip of the iceberg yep, you want to opt out of PvP, say bye bye to bases too. enemy planet shares you would not see either, nor could you alert enemy planets. EDIT: and wow, something that actually makes thematic sense ! draxsiss wrote: say we couldn't see our own race on the battle tab it would be a step in the right direction. that would be like nerfing Taltherian, but then there is also that medal that would have to be nerfed ...

rogue factions of the same race are at war every day, there's a legion mission based around it.

While their may be rouge factions I find it hard to believe that EVERY pc belongs to one. perticuarly since we also have missions that say we are working directly for our races primary government. Besides this would encuraged race changes. The medel hardly needs to be changed and Talth are the most OP race in the game giving them a small nerf does NOTHING to change their apeal.

Actually, imo, Talth is the 2nd worse race in the game, beaten just by Sillix. Being a Taltherian teaches laziness and causes many of its players to, for the most part, be infrequent npc'ers and inactive players in general. Far too many players are happy to just slow rank for months(some even years) and talth planets to 15x, rather than put the effort in to NPC/hit bases for their tf's/crystals to build planets much faster, and at the same time garner the cloak to protect them. What makes a race OP is the context within which it is used, as well as the person in control of the ship.

What makes a race OP is the context within which it is used, as well as the person in control of the ship. You're saying that Mylarai, Kronyn, and Human are better races than Talth? No. What i'm saying is that Talth teaches laziness, the 3 races you listed are awful too, but most Mylarai, Kronyn or Human players will actually do something(missions, npc, bases, because they have to bring in arti income), whereas most Taltherian players will often sit and slow rank and ultimately do nothing. Hence why i say its the 2nd worse Race in the game, because it leads to people doing nothing to help themselves or their legion. People will be Human, Kronyn or Mylarai, up till the unlock Taltherian, and then its sit on their ass time. I know of at least 2 dozen players(in the top ten legions) that have done almost nothing for the last 2 years but sit on the Talth ability and slow rank. Trapped by their own unwillingness to do 2 things at once.

Most slow rankers still base and npc fyi. The long road is the path to victory in this game, long term your aph is the only relevent stat, and Talth is the race that not only inproves that but offers the profession that ALSO inproves that. You will be the big fish in your pond if you take your time, effectly making you the best in your class.

Killing cool stuff that appears on your tab when you log in for today is not NPCing.

draxsiss wrote: but but..... oh ok...... how many npc kills does it take to qualify as a "npcer" ? depends on your level of course. That said by time some one is above rank 1k, i'd figure they better at least be in the range of 100k npcs killed if they want to be thought of doing serious npcing. Space Case Ace, since pretty much everyone else shares their 2 cents even if I think it aint worth it, I'll feel free to share mine just like you did mate. As for Adat (sic - because iirc thats how you had it lol), Dan actually ADAPTS to what the game base says. Doesn't mean its the way everyone would like it or forsee, but changes to the game through the years have OFTEN been driving by player commentary.

You may not believe it, but this is actually one of the most realistic things in the game... Compare it to the real world and one of the biggest categorisations that people use to class themselves not including actual race itself (and gender itself)- religion. Most mainstream religions have factions that are constantly in a state of war (Catholics/prots, Shia/Sunni). Heck even Atheism, whilst not a religion (inb4 someone throws out that it was classed as one by US Sup. Court) has factions (moderates, aggressives etc). If you make it so you can't target those of the same race, whilst not only a dumb idea, you are also removing one of the real-world comparable aspects of the game.
