When I use one ability does it automatically restart the timer on all my abilities?

For example, I just used my "Tactical Re-modulation". I then went to use my "Urbanize" ability and noticed it was no longer available because the time had been reset.

I used GP to change races and now I can't even use the ability of my race and my innate earned ability?

So I have lost the lost the GP used to change races, all the research I would have had if I had stayed Vygoid AND full use of the Taltherianability? Then I have to spend more GP to change back because the Taltherian ability interferes with other things?

That is pretty skeezy.

All abilities have a shared timer.

I'm on the verge of switching to Taltherian myself and am quite surprised by this.

Sorry if I'm being dense but does that mean that if I use the Taltherian artifact boosting ability, then 8 hours later use the algorithm ability to clear my battle tab that the Taltherian ability will reset to 40 hours 'till I can use it again?

Yes which is why it sucks that I wasted GP to switch when that wasn't clear before hand. No other part of the game resets everything if you do one action. Raiding/hacking doesn't reset your planet invasion timer. Alerting doesn't reserve your artifact sharing timer.

So all abilities use the same timer, regardless of how you got it?

When that was first mentioned, I assumed it was to prevent people from using a power and then changing race and using another power right away, or even changing back to use the same power again (trying to spam Saboteur or something); that's still a good idea, but hopefully they can change it so you can do that but non-race abilities have their own timers.

yeah. honestly i dont think there should be any shared timers. if someone really wants to pay to get 10 race changes so they can destroy 10 enemy buildings i would think dan would be all for the extra cash. and if that was the case where my planet got taken by this strategy i would say that person really needs another outlet for constructive cash spending.

It does suggest that additional abilities will be impeded as they interfere with each other, so why get them? Since it's obviously not how Dan wants people to feel, I figure he will be adjusting it soon. More abilities will probably be added also; we see the problem with just 2 (race+npc purge), so if there are more coming it would only get worse. Currently I use taltherian once and exotic algorithm once to keep the timing so that I am awake (40 hr timer causes the time to bounce around to the middle of the night otherwise). However, I have added about 140 AP/hr so far with the ability, but I feel bad for the other race abilities that are shorter (esp. genetarr) and prevent regular use of npc purge.
