Has anyone thought of any suggestions or know of any steps towards incentivizing PvP more. I'm leaving this thread open for updates and suggestions. I'd love to see more incentive given to members for PvP.

we need MORE incentive to pvp? isn't all that badage items enough? if anything we need LESS incentive to pvp.

Well, I feel that as higher ranks get higher they focus only primarily npcing and pvp pretty much tapers off. Especially with feeders providing reds for basing. High ranks who obtain all the necessities of piping end up stopping unless they personally enjoy being an enforcer. What do you think Drax?

Something that's trellith influence esque and can be bought with badges every 24-48 hours might do the trick for all the high rankers, could give it a high medal count too because why not

B: have only 10 targets to hit each day C: dont have the time to smash 200k+ hull for a stupid red. D: Just don't care. I Don't think adding more option will encorage upper ranks. Better ways to faster kill players would however and incrasing the number of targets for upper ranks to hit. Would be cool if my rank 1500 any one any rank your badge you and see you. as people rank slowly incrase the number. but for now 1500 is a good rank

Make Terraformers less common from NPCs, then have Terraformers purchasable with Red Badges.

If that's what you saying, it's a good suggestion. Rank is kinda meaningless after a while, and this would indeed increase the amount of PvP targets for high ranks.

It's funny. Before badges, the incentives to PvP were flame wars, trolling and trash-talking along with the inevitable random acts of planet conquering and zeroing. Maybe we should bring that back. The game will really pick up speed then.

While making a point during a flame war imagine if participating in the war was somehow positively reinforced through keeping count of wars won or lost, medals, a new strain of badges to purchase markets - I don't know the more dimensions the game has the better I think.

Sorry my latter statement is kind of garbled. Basically... similar to base disables what if wars won and lost was some how regulated and documented on the base's description. Additionally what if we had another badge color to purchase war arties pvp oriented, and/or medal points rewarded for warring.

You are right, people eventually run out of reasons to PVP: Personally, I think that's a good thing. The PVP aspect is my least favorite part of the game.

Correct; they should be totally removed from NPCs and only available with Red Badges.

I'm nearly rank 1900 and have no problem at all finding targets. I need a ton of badges to max out that silly sentry so i will be pvping for a long time to come  This is just as silly now as when it was suggested before

At rank 2775 I can still get around 10 - 15 red badges a day... a bit more if I really mean it (25 reds has been my best in recent times). I need to spend a couple of hours at least to get that many. The amount of targets is very small, and all the ships you can see are really though... plus they don't take it kindly if you badge from them every day (well most of them are nice about it, maybe they will badge back but that's about it... some others are a bit more sensitive and will try to mess with ya  ) Things ain't pretty for the high ranks - pvp wise - but I knew that when I decided to speed rank... I don't regret it, but I miss having more and easier targets hehe. Removing terraformers from NPCs would probably make a few people quit or just come to collect resources, but who knows. As per myself, my motivation to PvP is still high, but at some point it will just not be doable (but I will keep trying!). On the other hand, since rank is pretty meaningless when you are high enough, I think it wouldn't hurt to put a "pvp rank cap" which is what I think itsSoulPLayAgain was suggesting... e.g. once you reach rank 1500 (or whatever other high number), you can be seen and badged from any ship of higher rank. That would be fun

At your rank you have little besides scanning for bases and getting yellows for the scrounge ally
