Ok first off let me compliment you Dan for finally implementing this, it's great, truly it is, as there are some laborious legion missions that i never want to see again.
That said, wth are you thinking @39 GP to skip.
At that price only the people who desperately want the medal are going to fork out that amount, and after that... nothing, there is zero reason to pay such a fee ever again.
What you should have done, is thought and realize that what this game needs is a thing called "LONGEVITY".
Instead of giving us a low flat fee of say 4 GP per skip, something that would guarantee(and i do not use that word lightly) people will never stop using the SKIP feature, we've been lumbered with what appears to be a "get rich quick scheme", which will fall flat on its ass once the medal brigade are done.
Make the skip option cost 4 GP, and as i said, i can guarantee right now, you will get much much more money out of a low price feature than you will the extortionate amount of 39 GP, which no one(unless they're stupid) will ever fork out more than once.

almost 40 is probably a bit high bit 4 i think is too low. i think the high cost was put in place to stop it from being used very often.

Then why even implement it at all then, if Dan doesn't want people to use it when and as often as they see fit. There are only like 2-3 legion missions that anyone would even consider skipping, so it being used too often i don't see as an issue, especially since it's capped at only one skip allowed. Not everyone is gonna spend 39GP on this game either, but for example, i would say most people would drop 4 GP on it easy, especially since they can get that much GP from installing 2 iphone/ipad games via the earn GP feature. Thereby opening yourself up to more people, not just those that buy GP, but those whom earn GP as well. Anyway, it's just something to consider. There are already enough "high cost" items these days, there needs to be more focus on "low cost" but long term investments instead.

I could buy a beer or two for the price it takes to skip a mission. I think I know where I'd rather spend my hard-earned money.
I'm in full agreement with Kirk, however it makes me question the prices of reducing/increasing the duration of a legion mission. Would those remain the same now that it's cheaper to just skip a mission entirely as opposed to reducing it as much as possible?

I would keep them at the same cost, only because their function is to serve as a way to speed-up a legion mission you enjoy doing, rather than a legion mission you don't want to touch. I'm not starting this thread to call Dan out on any of his other costs(module charge refills/skip functions), because at least they're low enough for a casual player to consider doing once in a while, but i feel he missed the ball on the cost of this feature.

Overpricing seems to be the norm here lately anyway after the cost of the Lepus Artifacts and ally.
Whats more is that i think the whole 20gp to force someone to switch races to participate in a legion mission is also extortionate, which is why i posted a 200 legion mission award/Medal Idea that gives an upgrade to the mission computer to BYPASS the race requirements of a legion mission (Heh the Very Essence behind what being a Most Valuable Player to a Legion would be from the get go) But So be it, which is why i made the suggestion of the people like me and others that have been playing GL since the first year should get a discount/Bypass of legion missions at 200 legion missions completed. Seems only fair that those of us that have kept the wheels turning with our purchases, should reap some kind of benefit with our continued play AND support.
It wont unbalance the game, players will still have to complete 200 LM to gain the Mission Computer upgrade i suggested, and dan will still get the benefits of race changes from those that havent yet reached the goal of 200 LM completions, and will Still earn from those that exhaust their LM Racial Bypasses and have to recharge the unit.
If this Finanacial raping trend continues to Skyrocket, Dans going to force a lot of us loyal players to retire, and Essentially Kill his Goose that Lays the golden eggs.
Dan needs to remember Less is More. You don't have to choke your chicken to get paid. Charge reasonable prices for things and you WILL make more in the long run. Thats what our government is failing to realize by charging inexorable taxes on society, when they could make more by charging less. It's Simple Economics.

I'd pay 39 GP to skip a Legion Mission

This goes straight on the "do not use" pile.
The whole speeding up/slowing down thing nobody ever uses unless they are one of the rare few who have mad cash to throw away.
If that had been reasonably priced we would regularly speed up missions, even if it was just by 4-5 hours at a time.
Had this been even 15-20gp, we would use it semi-regularly.
But swapping 1 mission for the cost of two race changes? Not a chance.
I could see it being that expensive if it also let you choose the new mission, and it was the expensive option (Still could pay 10 to skip to a random one)

On topic, I won't even bother with the medal for that price, looks like a good way to offer choices without really offering choices.

Cost is much too rich for my blood to be using when a planet flux could be bought with almost the same GP.

Put your tin foil hat back on and think of some more people who are working against you. I am quite curious to see who is next. To help you out a bit I am thinking it goes bigger than Dan. I think that Al-Qaeda is restricting your rescued prisoners.

39 seems a bit overpriced to me, but as long as people are using it (and I'm sure they will), not much incentive to lower the price is there?

Yes i AM an American since you had to bring it up, so please try to keep your Envy in check. So your saying that YOU don't pay taxes in your country?! That's why i stated "OUR" Government because we all live somewhere where we are taxed and YES we ALL pay too damned much no matter where we are, what country we live in, in all of "OUR" revenue earnings. It's Universal, but hey, Thanks for thinking about "MY" country. but if ya really want me to, i'll go back and add a (S) at the end of government if it will make you feel better like i'm being ALL inclusive... I hope i made you feel important mr. 6 thread poster.

What's with this "Americocentricity" junk? I'm an American as well, and I can tell you we know all about other countries:
Canada (Oil supplier) Mexico (Oil supplier, farm labor supplier) China (Walmart supplier) Europe (something having to do with tea and crumpets - oh, and they still have a Queen there I guess) Japan (weird porn supplier) Russia (mail order bride supplier) India (technical support and call center customer service supplier) Africa (diamond supplier, child sponsor supplier) Middle East (bad guys)
the list goes on and on....
Yea, that's right, "Europe" and "Africa" are countries in the so-called "Americocentric" model.

Why the hate Ranqul? Let's try to keep it on topic here.
I agree that 39 gp is far too much to skip a LM. 10-20 seems a lot more reasonable.
