To whom ever read this,

Part of an suggestion & idea I have came up with one idea! I think they should implement a 'World Chat' or maybe something similar, enabling you to talk to other players while being in 'Legion Comms'

I came across the idea while being in a very active Legion & still currently in that legion, how ever the comm chat is dead & find myself bored or lonely sometimes as sad as it seems maybe a world chat would be a nice addition to Galaxy Legion.

This could lead to a lot of potential problems with people not familiar with multiple chat channels. If you want to speak with people from other legions do it on the forum, facebook groups, or better yet find a chatty legion.

However it should not be a problem is people follow the tutorial at the beginning, surely the tabs would be named for example; 'Legion Comm' | 'World Comm' for all players to see?

Still a valid point but not many people use facebook or facebook groups to contact people from games.

I wouldn't mind a world chat as long as it doesn't take away from Dans other updates since we need many other things added to the game before this.

As long as the default is legion, what does it matter? If you don't know how to use it, it simply don't exist for you, where is the harm?
That said, I forsee problem with offensive language and what not. I'd ask for a minimal rank limit to use but if noobs needed help, it would have been a great place...

+1 id say add the world chat but block out offensive language like when talking to some 1 on personal comms

If you cannot operate basic tabs, then you should not be playing a complex strategy game like GL.

I really like this idea +1, but it's alot of work because that chat would probbly/maybe result in legion/player conflicts, bot's spaming with some stupid sites and other. This could be solved by allowing for example only ranks 200+ and censoring any offensive words which would immediately result in temporary bans (1-7 days) after 5 bans if someone continuously does that will be resulting in perm ban for world chat.

I woould not want this. When was the last time any of you seen a wold chat that was not costantly spammed with . ^%$# youa ^&&$$$ your moms a ^%#$# you little ^%$^!


Worlds chats suck.

I completely agree. Extra work, increased server load, no benefit, lots of whining. Huge no from me as well.

Wish in one hand... You ever play games with multiple channels? It sure would be nice if there were a proficiency test, but sadly there is not. So world chat gives you:

- Constant spam from new players, bots, and general asshats
- messages scrolling by too fast to have any type of real conversation
- private messages mistakenly being told to everyone online

Moderation.
Flood prevention.
You can't fix stupid.

By whom? Assuming we're leaving Dan out of the moderation equation so he can focus on content and not the chatbox, of course.


Most games I've played have flood prevention that only stops multiple messages from a single user within a set period of time. How do you propose we stifle a torrent of anywhere around 100-200 people all trying to talk at once?


Unfortunate, but hilariously true.

I really don't see nothing wrong about it. Simple really you can't work a simple chat log then why play such a complicated game?

Reason: Every 'world chat' i've ever encountered has a band of rag tag bad boys n girls wanting to be mods so they can mislead gamers into thinking they are 'in communication with the developer gods' who 'will bear forth fruits to those who worship the mod-team enough'. An /ignore feature would be enough along with reporting major offenses but would create more work for Dan even still. Some would-be mods also while not saying it; don't mind people thinking it (that mods are somehow of influence in the game) which is not the case and never should be.

Facebook, Forums, "Add me at facebook.com/myusername" are all effective means to communicate. I believe FB Groups can even create their own free online chat rooms... which is far better than being forced to sludge down your computer with what will no doubt provoke spam/ddos attacks en-masse.

I think that world chat wouldn't work due to massive spam.

Personally I think that a "group" chat would be better. This would work well for legions that have got so big they have multiple parts e.g. Stormkyn group, there are 5 legions all under 1 banner.

A group chat that you could invite legions to be a part of would allow easy communication between all of these without needing an FB group.

+1 great idea legion chat can be pretty dead at times ive played other games that use a world chat with a group/legion chat also available

For putting that thought in my head, I give the idea for world chat -1. I can only imagine the players acting like brats.

Make it a restaurant at the end of the universe or something. Somewhere you have to go. a new tab.
