Well, I'm going to start an actual shiplog, at the moment I'm just collecting all the previous How's my ship doing threads that I've placed in and piling them up in here instead. Starting from when I first started recording to my most recent.

Anyhow, I feel that my ship made off with a pretty rough start early on so my ship still kind of sucks. So I've begun freeze ranking (again, last time I ended up going to Anomaly Rising to help them achieve their goal of upgrading their base to level 6 'by the end of the month) and intend on stopping once I've achieved a few goals.

-Have 10 Maxed (15x MR or better) mining planets via Mylarai enrichments, toxic uplifts, or invasions.

-Have 1500 Tactical Officers, and 1200 Scientists.
(1098/1500 T.Os, 987/1200 Scientists)
-Acquire 3 Velox Thrusters.
(0/3)
-Have 5 PolyChoron Vaults on my planets.
(2/5)
-Turn my ship into a $%&% tank.
(5/5 Standard Hulls, 4/4 Standard Thrusters, 1/4 Standard Dampeners)
-Acquire Anubix AI Assault Drone (Optional)

One tip. Don't freeze rank. Don't even consider it until you have 5x or 6x your current artifact/hr, or just plain don't do it. You should have at least 3x your current production at that rank

A few things to consider:
-How long will it take for you to double just your purely by adding Tactical Officers and collecting Android Helmsmen? Roughly 2 years? 3 years? Why waste all that time boring yourself to death and making little progress when you could be involved and making lots of progress?
-Think to yourself, why would you stay down at rank 306 with limited production when you could be fixing up your condition, raising your artifact, and seeding up progression? Slow ranking merely gives you the illusion of being strong.
-NPCing can give you the equivalent Mineral/hr gained from 10 Mylarai enriched planets in 1/5th (or less) of the time. Try Talth.

Other than that, go with what you feel will make your ship into the one that you've wanted to be.
If that came down as rough, apologies for that. Tried to keep it to the point, good luck! :)

Well, I find your thoughts to be fair and reasonable and I do forgive you for being supposedly rough.
I'm mainly trying to catch up to other ships my rank that make my ship look like a flying scrap pile, just look around at other people's ship logs on these forums to prove my point, you'll notice most of them have better stats overall even at somewhat lower ranks, If I continue ranking up I'll just remain consistently weaker than those within my rank range and therefore be "easy prey" to anyone whacking their BT if they recognize my name from the last 6 times that they might've disabled me.

As for boring myself, I've got enough to do outside GL as it is; entertainment shouldn't be a concern to be honest. Is it a waste of time? Maybe, I'm honestly not sure what the heck to do with my ship anymore other than to mentor my recruits in a "what not to do" sort of way.

I suppose, if that is your goal, and you have the willpower to carry through with it. As an analogy, imagine what kind of ship Mento would be if he were to freeze rank @ rank 300. Perhaps he'd be a strong rank 300, but he certainly would not be one of the group of rising high-ranks that are able to render completely bricked planets extremely vulnerable. Just my 2 cents, good luck whatever you decide to do

I can see where you're going with this and perhaps I'm looking at the whole PVPing scheme a little too narrowly. I guess I'll be taking some time to come to a decision on this and several things..

You could always rank slower, like... Umm... Star Chart purger mission, just do that, until you run outta EM, then youa re still ranking, but do put a halc and Calming Amp on...
