There probably has been a thread .. but I haven't seen one .. but regardless of browser .. GL doesn't appear to let go of memory.. every new window you pop open (base, npc, BT) it appears to take another 10k.. and each time you close the window .. it never gives it back .. eventually Chrome/Firefox/IE get up to the 1.5-2 gig memory level and then it starts lagging like a mofo and you need to restart page/browser..

Normally not so bad when just tabbing around or light npcing but bases and pvp it builds quick

but using prisoners brackets etc need to restart the browser every 5 mins or so for that it's really annoying.

I believe it's from JQuery AJAX calls and not releasing DOM objects. I researched it a little and there may not be a way to forcibly release the memory. Chrome is a lot easier since you can close and reopen the tab to reclaim memory. Firefox is a giant pain in the butt I recommend memoryfox and use the restart browser function to reopen it with existing tabs but not reload all of them until you visit them again. IE... I refuse to use IE.

How many tabs would you have open for GL at one time??
And why the mention of prisoners brackets etc needing to restart browser??
Sorry if i sound like a noob but keen to know why?

Ye i can confirm this.
It seems to be adding 0.1mb per action and does not free it back up. - safari on mac

Each action that you do in GL adds 0.1mb to your memory usage and does not free it back up and if you do 10 k actions (i reguarly leave my browser open for a couple of weeks.) that is a lot of memory usage just sitting there doing nothing which isn't able to be used by any other programs which means there is a memory shortage which can only be freed when your browser is restarted.
