So, I was wondering, is it better to have a smaller ship size and less modules installed on my ship or just go all out and install everything I want to? Lately, I've been stocking up ship-bots (Ship-Bot (Uses Left: 78)) because I didn't want to install the things on my ship because it would raise my damage cap, but lately I was thinking if this damage cap thing was really that important.

I currently have 2425 decks already and could happily add another ~100 to install modules, but would it be a smart idea?

Depends on how much time you want to spend on changing modules around.

Or depends if you stopped caring about getting disabled and having high damage cap. Though I personally prefer having every useful modules online regardless of how high the damage cap will be.

I have found lately that im starting to not care about damage cap and being disabled. If someone wants you dead then they will kill you. less decks and a lower damage cap will just prolong your death.

At least with high decks you can install what you want

At this point I wouldn't say you are particularly small so I would go all out and put the decks on.
