I'm struggling to decide whether to use my havoc coils on Heavy Quasi-Chaotic Blasters or Heavy Thetacron Cannons. If i upgrade the Heavy Quasis my upkeep will be through the roof, but i'll get the maximum attack possible. Opinion?

Do you have both types of guns at the moment? Or thinking about upgrading to quasi's before using havoc coil?

If you plan to ever have quasi's, you should wait to use the coil on those only, instead of wasting them on thetas. In the long run, it's a better use of them. Though they are replaceable, so just depends whether you care to have to earn them again down the road by using them on thetas first.

I would say as you move into Quasi's, upgrade one before you buy another, that way you gradually move into it instead of bang heres double upkeep.

I have 2 quasis install and the rest thetas. But now with the new legion mission ally (which has an maxed upkeep of 10B) i'm not sure if having quasis install is worth it.

If you check Mento's ship - as far as I know the one with the most attack - he has Heavy Quasi-Chaotic Blaster x8.

From what I've heard he gets more to's per day than what the Quasi's value is, yet he still has them.

probably because he can't get rid of decks, that or he doesn't care much for his dmg cap as he still has a beast of a ship

Yes. But he wouldn't have upgraded the Quasis with Havoc Coils yet. Once fully upgraded they double the upkeep of each quasi.

I'll get 5728att from thetas for 3.56B upkeep or 6880att from quasis for 14.06B.

1000 attack difference isn't much at all in higher ranks, it really isn't. Even though im a MSB, and want to be as efficient as possible (upgraded quasis have a bit better ratio) I'm upgrading my heavy thetas because the upkeep isn't worth it in the long run. Things get expensive when you're in the higher ranks, save yourself some creds.

ive had heavy thetas for probably 6 months now and have never thought about changing, even with the havoc coils. it just makes no sense to me to increase upkeep by about 4x with the upgraded quasis, versus the thetas.
and its true, 1K attack isnt any big deal for higher ranks. i gain well over 1K a month from tac officers.
