I have been talking to a member of my legion over the past 2 days and I have only just become aware of the intensity of the production I have been receiving, basically put, I need to build up on a lot more Artifact and Minerals. I am getting close to 8000 Research points per hour and Artifacts at 1585 per hour and Minerals being at 3282 per hour, which is leaving me virtually broke and not getting enough decent artifacts to do much with. I do get a lot of regular artis etc and make around 3 bill a day from minerals, but I was wondering how I should proceed with increasing my arti/min production.

I am lvl 433 and have been provided with close to 100 bill to build upon to make my current planets better and get new ones. I worked out I can own 87 planets in 2 more levels and I currently own 70, so that is 17 extra i can colonize. I feel out of the 17, I should use 9 for minerals and 8 for arti's, due to Minerals being at 3282 per hour and Artifacts at 1585 per hour.

I am trying to understand what I am being told, but I feel really stupid when I am being explained, I can only take on so much info at a time and I am being bombarded with not only how to increase production, but Theory Lab artis and various other things and it is too fast. I was hoping if there might be a planet guide out there, or if someone might be able to tell me what is the best way to get what I am trying to achieve. I just need to know which would be the best planets to go for, so I am able to reach my goal of trying to get my arti and minerals up to an approx 5000 per hour or more.

So basically in a nut shell, I know some planets have a better resources, as I think it is Gas planets are usually always minerals. I also know that the richer the resource is is better, but I also know that say a Colossal Rich, can be much better than a Large Mega Rich. So I just need to put all of this into a perspective I can understand and work out which planet types I should go for and which better structures to place on them. I do not know if I am making sense, but I want my Legion to be proud of me and me not having to ask them for help all the time and the only way I can do this is if I learn all of this stuff. The wiki isn't helping me much as I do not know what I am meant to be looking for in there and i don't want to keep asking my legion. I hope someone can please help me with this. Thank you for any help provided.

I believe the general guideline is this :

Colonize ONLY VL/rich or better

For Ultra rich or below - size worths 1 point
For Mega rich or above - size worths 2 points
Richness each worths 1 point (very sparse 1, sparse 2, so on - the formula (bonuses + 100%)/25%)

That concludes that VL/rich worths 7 + 7 = 14

---
I read someone's post about #1 and #3, but I add the #2 as planet with Mega rich has much better use as the size increases.

Of course, colonizing sub par planets has its advantage - high rankers usually skip them

you really haven't looked at the wiki at all if you believe gas planets are good for mining:

http://galaxylegion.com/wiki/index.php/Planets#Types_of_Planets

the 2d post in Aggross' beginner game guide gives basic planet strategy:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=106&start=1

and again the wiki:

If you're having trouble with planets and planet production, the section labeled Planets from the main page is all you have to look at. It lays out most of the information you're looking for. Also, Gas-Research, Terra-Artifact, Volcanic-Mining. Those are basic references for resources, and there are exception that would make it all too confusing. So, stay away from the gas invasions. :)

Sorry I got the Gas and Volcanic planets mixed up when I was talking about mining, I was referring to the same thing as the last post stated, how certain plannets are used mainly for 1 resource. I am sorry if I mixed that up. I am reading through what you have listed for me, I had tried the wiki but I kept getting lost. Thanks for your help.
