I have read several posts about an Exotica type planet. As I am a somewhat newer player I was wondering. Is an Exotica planet harder to find than an Exotic planet or are they the same thing?

Exotica is a planet you get from doing a mission chain. my recommendation is that you don't bother doing that mission chain.
Exotica is owned by Nocifer Deathblade, leader of The Dysonians, he's level 500 something I believe. it's basically a fortress. and the problem about it is that it's stuck on your scans, you can't use a star chart purger on it because it's immune to artifacts.

The missions can be useful later, just to get more missions ended for tier rewards, because they're easy finishes, and if you're a higher level then the one more planet in your database won't make too much of a difference.

So if you get the planet then Nocifer will own it or what?

So am I correct in this: Both Exotica and Dyson are controled by the same Legion; The Dysonians?

No; Exotica is owned by the Dysonians. "Dyson" is a type of planet, some people own some, but there is not one specific Dyson. In fact, every player can make their own Dyson through the mission "The Colossal Project," which follows "The Terra Project". And every player can get 5 Gaia planets from a high level mission.

Heh. It can be confusing with the term..

Exotica is not same as Exotic.. Exotica is the NAME of the UNIQUE exotic-type planet that is labelled as king of the hill planet that everyone has access to it if they completed the exotica mission.. There is no such other planet like Exotica.. Exotica is the only planet that always have immunity to artifacts and will never leave any players' database once they completed the mission..

Everyone can have their own mission-based exotic- and dyson-type planets (just 1 each) that will come with very nice bonus 10K in attack, defense and cloak EACH.. Will worth your time/money investment ALOT.. Sooner you get them, the better off you will be as good head-start..

Only problem is most of us would have to buy the terraformers. I still haven't seen on in an artifact drop yet.

I just got #11 last night... used it on the hyper-terraformed planet to make it 14x all!

Best way to get it for free is to farm NPCs.. Terraformers out of artifact production SUCK and way too rare..

I bet a legion of 50 zolazin saboteurs could take Exotica from Nocifer

I think you are getting confused. Exotica is the name of the planet, there is only one, and is owned by one of the best Pvpers in Galaxy Legion(Even though he farms lowers). Exotic is the type of the planet, and there are thousands more, and they are almost all amazing. But they are extremely uncommon, the second most uncommon. Dyson is another type, the rarest, and the best. Gaia is the last type you mentioned, and is gained by gaining a gaia seed through the mission "Drannik Extinction". You then use it on a terra to improve it's stats and make it a gaia.

Only a coordinated attack of several rank 300+'s could take Exotica(Just a guess, based on who owns it, I don't actually see the planet yet, but I have the mission.).

Heh. Would require MORE than "several".. You haven't seen current Exotica. It's defense and attack power is so crazy.. I'll screenshot the latest one tonight. It has about 4-8 guardians all the time along with exotica's added defense/attack to supplement.. It's pretty tough. Any legions succeed in invading it will be very impressive and they've earned their honor and recognition in GL.

I guess it will be fun scraping it out of your dead hands next year Noc when my plan comes together...
