hmm, I got one... A few months ago our legion broke apart, several of our former leaders and officers (and multi's) left the legion after a dispute when certain issues were raised. This took us from the mid -40's down to 100 something on the leaderboard. I decided to roll up my sleeves and bring in as much new talent as possible, and I did, this is what lead to my promotion to officer. We managed to reclaim our old spot on the board without the high-ranking and powerful ships that left. And then...we didn't stop, and settled into the 14-16 slot... And they said we'd run the legion into the ground without them

When I was first starting out TSl we fell below 25 members several times. Low-mid rank players tend to hop around a lot until they find a legion that suits there style. Once you lose a few, other players think there might be something wrong, or that the legion is failing, so they too leave. It's all about perseverance, and not quitting just because others have. The longer you are around, the more "core" players you will get (loyal people that won't abandon the legion when times are rough).

When i came to Anomaly we had around 30 people, not too bad, no one oeaving or anything, then i put up our recruitment thread, at first it was arti, but no one came sincethere r so many arti legions out there, later we switched to research, i changed it in the recruitment thread, then a whole pack of new players came, buuuut those were apparently multis dan banned them, we were back to 30 something, now slowly, new members that arent multis have come, and we have 46 and havestopped recuiting

I founded Mass Effect, we've had a lot of ups and downs of course like any legion. A couple of our Officers who joined us from a previous small legion merger ; left us for better sights. Unfortunately they never said goodbye and never shared their opinion with us. We're really interested in discussing things too which was odd that they didn't even discuss it with us; let alone try very hard to remedy the sympton of their concern (recruitment) which in our legion is an Officer's duty (one of many).
However recently we went from 20 to 38 in a short period of time due to a new idea and lots of determination from one of our officers (Bacchus) who kept asking around if those who were looking for things we had would be interested in joining us. This has really shown that like in other legions which face hardships; it's about friends sticking together and pulling through to create new and beautiful friendships that with any luck will last.
There's other legions out there with more adventerous stories with more twists of deviousness out there ; some I know of and some I don't. Though today I only came to this thread to share mine. I'd like to thank everyone who's shared theirs for sharing. It's not only interesting to read of other people's experiences but it helps those who desire to persevere to continue doing so.
I support the idea that a Legion exists for their friendships, experiences and desire for honor/fair treatment to even their opponents. To simply become absorbed in the blob of "is your rank high enough to bump ours up the ranks so we can say we reached that point...." is not my idea of fun or enjoyment if that is the sole purpose of a legion. So glad to hear of good stories here.

Starcraft SG1 was constantly in the 30s of members for a long time. The highest it ever got was 38. Then, one member came in and started to help us change things. He was so active that we had no choice but to talk. He helped us reform into a training legion which allowed us to recruit more members. With that change we became known as the Terranian Armada. Now we are constantly in the high 40s and we have such strong ships now that we are constantly 20 levels higher in strength on the leaderboard than rank.
