What is the formula for damage in an attack vs defense ratio ignoring the random number generator?

Could you provide the graph formula for the hyperbolic tangent? i want to be able to plan my energy usage better.

actually. i have a better idea. i have never been great at graphing and i have not yet reached the education level at which i can confidently plot a hyperbolic tangent. if i were to provide you with raw information by averaging my damage output on enemies of certain defenses could you plot it? Even better, i might be able to convince a legion friend to help me.

Well, that's the graph of the hyperbolic functions. I just don't know what "x" would be for the function; it might be attack - defense, but I guess if we look at data we could figure it out. I think the point is the diminishing returns.
