Alright, I'd like to try to figure how scanning and planets works as in how much scan you needed to add to your current scan to find one more planet.
I believe it should be something like
Max planets = scan / (x^ln)
Or something with ln. I can figure the formula out later, for now, I just need data, and lots of it, from all across the board, from very low to very high scan.
If you people would be so nice as to put down how many planets you were allowed to scan and your scan from your next few scan runs, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I got 1227 with 172(04) I am not 100% sure about the last two digits but that was max unlimited + prejor two saturdays ago.

If we could also record when it drops ratings that might also be useful as alot don't go till it grays out.

I had 1180 the time before I can't remember the exact number I know it was 168xx or 169xx, I think the only thing I was missing at the time was serhin, which all the buffs would be 240 added scan putting me at ~16964. I don't recall but I know the number of planets is correct. Hopefully the last few digits don't skew the data too much.

Thank you. I'll put those in tomorrow. I am super tired right now, and math + tired = bad idea. After this, we'd need to run extensive testing, I want to see if my number is more towards senatorhungs mem- er number, and if so, I would like to put it to the test. Also, it does seem likely that this will be a logarithm.

I mostly need need numbers between 1000 and 2000 2000 and 6000 and 6000 and 11000
Those are where the biggest gaps are, especially 6000-11000. There is not data there, and that's a good 5,000 possible plot points I need.
What I wish I could truly do is add 1 scan at a time to determine exactly how much scan is needed to add a planet. The data I've been given is nice, but I can't pinpoint exactly how much to add another possible planet scan.

Those data points are suspect in my opinion and can not be used for any formula discovery.
602 scan gets 110 planets and 978 scan gets 112 yet another 20 points of scan gets another 38 planets?

these numbers are from me, so i made the corrections on Chloron's listing. in order to get those fine details, i juggled between combinations of the quad-frames (25 scan), the stryll transponders (20 scan), and the +4 and +9 proximity scanners - as close to minimum scan increases as possible. i had asked for more datapoints back in july, but didn't get much more response other than ODragon for the wiki updates.

ln of what? You need to have the natural log of a value; my calculator gives me a syntax error when I put a value to the power of 'ln' alone.
x^ln(y) would be correct, but what're you using as 'y'?
What does your x denote?

What does your x denote? That's what this thread is for. Yeah, this why I need data, so I can attempt how the data changes, so I can then figure out how to approximate how much scan is needed for x planets, or vice versa.
