Hi Legionnaires, I am Mad Merlin and I formed a group about a week ago called Mad Merlins Marauders http://apps.facebook.com/galaxylegion/loader.php?q=bGVnaW9uaW5mby5waHA/YWN0aW9uPXJlcXVlc3QmbGVnaW9uaWQ9NDA4Mw== It's a good group so far and I have recruited a few people. I learned my first lesson today. I brought in a player without "friending" him on FB. Turns out that after over a week of notices trying to get him to add me as a fb friend I had to kick him because he wouldn't comply. Wouldn't you know it... he is in the Legion called The Hit Squad and is now pummeling me! Lesson #1 - Never recruit new members that refuse to add you on facebook! Tough lesson to learn. I am praying that I will be able to join an alliance with a larger/more seasoned team and bring in a heavy hitter to drop this guy! I am sharing my mistake in hopes that in some way, my over site will help to prevent the next new player from experiencing the same despair!

Well, you could also just not force them to add you on Facebook, a lot of people like this new Legion system specifically because they don't have to add people they don't actually know to their Facebook, on which they only want friends and family.

I am not sure that your post makes sense. I want to track the game activity on the fb wall to see if the potential member is in a legion already and is requesting to join our team as a spy. It seems to be the case with this guy. I would not have known it otherwise. So far, all of the players have "friended" me and are legit. The one guy that doesn't befriend me ... well ... you read my story Nevertheless ... if you play and dont want to be friends with your team ... that is ok with me. You also miss out on shared artifacts.

Well, my post makes sense, even if you disagree with it. But it didn't sound like he was a spy, didn't you kick him out? It sounds like you kicked him out and he got mad. Honestly, you sound pretty paranoid.

Ok for one I don't know what rank your members are mostly at so I may be wrong on this but I'm guessing they are fairly low in rank. Under 100 for the most part and such. If this is the case I really don't see any cause of alarm for spy's. Also any spy worth having would FB friend a leader and as many of the players in that legion as he could. Think about it, that way he can see when you are online and when you are not. making it easier to disable you and raid hack you to 0's. Going back to what I said earlier about you not having to worry about spy's now. What I meant by that is this. A legion that low in rank would not be easy to find on the battle tab. There is also not much you can do against them with a spy really. I really don't think you talk about many things that you don't want others out side of your legion to know about in your legion comm.
So dude like Ferrus said. Not everyone wants to be FB friends with you in the game. If it is part of your requirement to get in thats all fine and dandy but don't complain when you kick a player out for it and he turns around and starts attacking you back like crazy. I would do the same thing.

Our legion works just fine for sharing and coordinating.

Our legions is the same way, lol I do have a few members of my legion are on my friends list, but most of those was friends before I even started galaxy legion, and we seem to function pretty well. I'm with those guys, sounds to me like he got mad because YOU kicked him out, and prob. gave him a bunch of crap that he didnt like, therefore making it even more heated.
Now I dont know if it is true that you guys had some unpleasent words back and fourth just sounds to me like the most logical ways that the events took place.

the whole point of the new system is so that you dont have to FB friends them. otherwise i would be without a legion, because to me people that friend people to get ahead in a game look desperate. Legion chat will help you coordinate just fine without FB chat. and no one wants spam on their FB wall from games. thats the #1 reason i stop playing.

Fair enough. I would admit to being somewhat paranoid. I came from a game called Knighthood and am new here. Knighthood was filled with clones and Trojan Warriors. Perhaps this game is different.
I do wonder how you use the team chat option on the fb team page if you do not add each other as friends... or do you not use a team page as an option in this game?
Just wondering, not judging, trying to learn how this game stacks up against other competitive fb games.
