I'm looking for opinions. If I were to reset, what would be the best way to go about building my ship? I won't keep my planets, but I will keep my credits and ctp (friends will hold that until I reset. Will be a #$&*@ getting the kur or aid back thought, but I can live with that for awhile.

What should I research first? Where should my rp go? Should I sit in a research legion, or go for an arti?

Want to reset right? Look at bob.

Question is though why do you want to reset?

Eh, I'm bored, my ship isn't that good, and hell, I've been wanting to do it for a long time, I've just pussied out.

And can't really look at bob, since he was able to drop his planets and get them back

How much valuable mission stuff do you have?

I would recommend making as much tech as you can, and instead of getting planets back buying some.

Also something I've thought about is reset scan sell/share repeat.could possibly do this to either
Make tech to buy planets
pay to have someone hold and later drop for you
Help your legion

Can do that til youre bored, or are satisfied with what you start with.

I have a Gaia seed, no treliths, and I don't believe any limited artis. I can transform someone's plasma I think, and maybe a demon

to my personal opinion a research base would be a good way to start off as you can quickly research ahead of the other players in your range and earn those easy kills.

If you cant drop any planets then your gonna be resetting the hard way. Doing it this way Id recommend going for a research legion initially, just to give you a little headstart on production buildings. As soon as you get to +8 structures your gonna want to move to an artifact base.

This approach will be hard work since you will most likely have to rely on other people giving you good planets. I think the best ship for this approach is a SSB and when you reach around 100-150 start moving out into a MSB using stockpiled ship bots.

Try to make as much cash as possible before you reset, lower your upkeep to pretty much zero and have the legions your going to join organized before hand.

I would strongly recommend

a: take some maxed passive cloaked planets with you one or two (or 50) will make a massive difference in the long run.
b: research all if the production buildings first ignore everything else as artifact production covers everything including enough scanning power from buffs to get you the first 50 planets scanned.
c: minimize your decks, especially do not add decks to install defensive modules. lack of decks is as good a defense as you will need.

If you are not planning on running a minimum deck build and going hardcore into artifact production the effort you will go to really wont be worth it. Knowledge will only gain you so much and after that the only problems resetting fixes is either being too high a rank with a massively underpowered ship or taking too much damage because you have too many decks.

That is all the advice i gave to my little cousin before he reset, he now has a ship even i envy. From his experience once he got over 10k AP/h he was purging enough planets to scan up a decent one to occupy every four ranks.

TAP/LOCK AS MANY BOSSES/ELITES BEFORE YOU RESET. I would suggest to lock the DMCs/Hives or any bosses that give a nice reward. Don't forget to lock Koreths, if you get those hull, you'd have a free +210 hull on your deck. Ask the EotS guys to let you lock as many Bosses/Elites as possible before resetting, that thing can benefit you. I'm sure they'll help you as much as possible for a good reset start.

In addition to everything else said (especially research first):
I would recommend putting your first 10 ranks' (or so) rank points into T.O.s. This gives you an early headstart on attack, managing to bypass the small number of decks/small amount of attack for mods, and lets you PvP much more effectively from an earlier rank (and keep more hull on your ship).

you can scrap what you get for CTP. CTP which you can later use to buy good planets.

When you reset, they kill them and you get high level modules as a new ship. Imagine having multiple Korteth Twin-Blasters as level 1.

Holy crap, that's possible? that wouldn't work over here though, everything flies past so quickly. Before most of us get the red alert, its already down for the count.

Yes it does. And I bet if you told them, at the very least, you could get on a ton of 10-12 mans, even if you can't get on the 3-4 man. Great if you see hives. It could give you energy regen real early.

if your legion wont help you with a reset, then are you really in the right spot?? and vahrun, your just WRONG on scrapping the drops for ctp, you want the loot to install on your ship.

hives are the best thing to get IMO, get about 10 of them tagged and you should get your 3 t-plasma time reducers, which is a big help at the start. as well as any def mods you can get as well.
