Would changing race bypass the ability cooldowns? Would I have to become another race and then switch back to Kronyn to cooldown Erudition, or is the only solution to wait?

No, the timer carries on as normal

what i wonder is, if you used taltherian ability on a planet, imediately switch to kronyn, would u be able to use the kronyn ability right away?
race change is 20 GP, terraformer is 36, so as long as all u care about is only the primary production of a planet, hopping between the 3(or just 2) races every other day would actually be cheaper if that works

Nope the timer is a shared timer between the three.

If you want to upgrade a planet quicker, the only way to do so, is to bounce it around a few friends. Ask them if they'd use their ability on it too.

It's not that I want to improve the planet, it's that I want to get the erudite medal.

Nope, paradoxes do not. Is the resource bumping linked to the sab timer? Cause that'd really suck...

Just went Zolazin. The Sabotage ability is linked to ability cool downs. However, I just used Erudition about a minute before switching. The cool-down for Erudition is 40 hours but when I switched to Zolazin the cooldown got dropped to eight hours. I'm wondering if I switch back to Kronyn once these eight hours is up then maybe Erudition will have cooled down. I've got 2 more uses with the Glavis Device which I'm willing to sacrifice in the name of discovery.

it's possible that rather than record a cd time for abilities, the game record the time of when the last ability was used. and each time u check any ability, the ability cd is compared to the recorded time to calculate cooldown

I'm pretty confident that is how the racial ability cooldown mechanic works.

It's been less than 40 hours since I used erudition (19, actually) and I just switched to Kronyn. The timer was still in place, despite being able to use Sabotage.

Switching back to zolazin whilst the timer was on did not reset the sabotage timer.
