A planet trap that alerted your whole legion would be a pretty useful thing. Something that simply sent a message to your whole legion saying "X Planet is under attack!" and had a clickable link to the planet....yea thats the end of the idea lol.

We like it! Definitely a nice twist on the existing alarm sentry.

Would have to cost a lot of AP i think since it would be ridiculous if every planet you attacked had one and the whole legion got a chance to take a swing at the planet.

Perhaps have it so the effects last for X hours or until the planet is lost. So if you lose the planet, you need to reshare it manually yourself. Makes sense really, since it avoids your planet getting stolen and on top of that makes it fair for the person attacking after he's had to deal with whatever people are online and willing to help.

I think it should be an NPC drop myself, a boss with about 30% chance of getting the alert sentry.

what if it was a Chassis Artifact slightly uncommon and high cost to install and upkeep charges based on that planets output and or player's level. it could run on exotic matter.

thank you webguydan for all your hard work this game is the awsome and you keep making it better

YES! If you were in a real ship, with a real legion the first thing you would do is radio the entire legion, now would the timer apply to this , only 1 every 12hrs or would this be excluded as it's a defensive alert, where the standard legion alert of planets is mostly used for colonizing or invading.

Make it last for a shorter time than an alert since this would just be a quick fix. Make it last for like 8 hours instead of 24. That way you could have time to alert it for real if need be.

Very interesting. I think it will greatly increase real time play. It would also make the taking of planets more of an epic struggle. People already plan group hits on many planets, but this will cause even more! I do think it will invalidate one useful artifact though... the wormhole thing that warps ships away. Anyone who has ever fought a real time planet battle will tell you, that is the biggest waste of 30 energy in the game (except doing the missions that lead to the Dysonian mega mega planet...LOL). If you insituted the legion wide alert, maybe you put a timer on the wormhole return. Think of it this way, your ship was just suddenly warped away from its defensive assignment, the crew is stunned, you are trying to figure out what part of space you were just dumped in, and you need the proper cooridinates back to the planet... thus if you are wormed away, it takes 30 secs/ 45 secs/ 1 min before you can get back to the action.

Answering my own post... You know Dan, that's not a bad idea even without the legion wide alert. If you are warped away, have a 30 sec cool down feature before you can guard a planet again.

Most people just throw up a planet deflector so you can't use artifacts anyway. But yes the wormhole is totally useless, at least at higher levels.

Make it last 12 hours, basically, like the calming amps, it's something you use while asleep/at work so your legion can cover your butt when your not away.

Yeah, I've suggested that on two occasions, but nobody agreed.
