Hi everyone. I have a question for the guys who've played this game for a while.

Last night, one of my legion members ran into a rather ... "indecent" ship. A disable on my legion mate's ship, resulted in my legion mate "returning" the badge. This resulted in my legion mate being unable to play for the entire weekend due to this ships resulting continual disables. Now we're a fairly new legion. None of us is even close to being able to help my legion mate. But this is besides the point. During the back and forth comm chatter this ship boasted that he's only played this game for exactly 3 months since yesterday was his 3 month anniversary.

My question and the reason I posted this topic here is this:

He is rank 402 Sillixx Fixer with the following stats.

Battles 112071 (Grand Legend)
Player Kills 269
Deaths from Players 53
Non-Player Kills 9654
Planets Found 256
Planets Occupied 66
Planets Captured 7
Missions Completed 878
Scans Performed 2734
Successful Hacks 66
Successful Raids 42

Now I've played this game for way longer than 3 months. I'm a measly 180 and I've been pretty happy with my progress.

Is this even possible? Can you get to rank 400+ in a mere 3 months? Or is he just full of BS? Or has he found some kind of exploit or cheat that would get him more energy than normal? If someone out there has a formula for me to hit 400+ in 3 months, I'd like to know. I'd reset my account right away!

Thanks for any info. I would really like to know how that is done.

It is possible, although he seems to be a rather extreme case, and if that is true he is likely extremely under powered for his level. Try probing him to see his attack/defense stats, and they will likely be around the same as yourself. That being said, his rank and speed are not an excuse for the behavior you have described, so even if you are personally unable to support your member, you can always take it up with his legion's leadership, and if need be a mercenary legion like Talon Co.

is it possible, deffinatly, is it advisable no. chances are this, they have either put all or most of their points into engineers OR they have spent half a metric butt ton on GP for energy refills / artis / the galaxy wheel so that they can afford all teh planets that they are getting. however there is no way for their ship to be decent in any fashion as 3months time of research from dead start is almost none

Thing is...I've seen energy builders. I know they are weak as heck. But this guy seems to be able to disable people quite easily as his record shows. He is also at Star Destroyer Size for his ship. Which means he's a decker no? How does a decker have the kind of research capable of protecting his ship from constant disables if he's played only three months and be able to build a Grand Legend/Savage battle rep?

Only way I see is how Elerian stated, he's spent alot of real life money on a imaginary game.

Unless they are a reset in a high lvl legion who is getting 50k+ a day of research, but even then they should be considerably behind the curve

Coming from experience, there are players out there who build that sort of a rep attacking players who frankly don't care one bit about their ship. That doesn't necessarily mean he himself is strong, just that he is persistant. I myself am in the same rank area as him, a Colossal Star Destroyer, and a Zolazin, who has been insane since the early 100s. So it is possible he built himself up those decks simply through artis and GP

Oh! I completely forgot about the reset. Yes! He is in Pheonix Rising. They have a level 5 base. I wouldn't be surprised then that he's gotten a huge boost from them.

I just probed him.

Def: 4528

Are these on par with rank 400+ ships? My legion member is only 290...how is he even on his BT?

I'm 410, and see ships from 250-310 on my BT almost exclusively, so that's pretty normal. His stats are decent, much better than expected from a speed ranker, but not impossible. Compared to his lvl, they are a little low on the whole

Ok. Thanks everyone for your kind help and replies. I guess I'll just have to tell my legion mate to bite the bullet and stay disabled for another 24 hours until he falls off his radar. Have a good nite. I should get my base to level 5 and speed rank too lol.

I'm going by the standard I see on my battle tab, which for that rank range is typically 3-4k in both attack and defense. I myself am also considerably higher as well, but that just puts the two of us above average for our rank. You yourself seem to be well beyond average

They are very low I'd say.

I have ranked up faster than I'd like at times during the nearly one year I've played, and my unbuffed Defense alone, not counting the Xecti bonus, is greater than his total Strength.

In other words, he's less than 56% of my unbuffed ship Strength, regardless of Race or Profession.

To answer your question though, there are plenty of ships in the galaxy who buy their way to higher ranks, so that they can be farmed from here to eternity.

Again, you are considerably above and beyond most ships in your level range. It's hardly an accurate portrayal of the average strength to quote the strength of the top 5-10%, which is where you clearly fall. If the stats you quoted are accurate, you are stronger now than the majority of ships I see in even the 500-800 range. And considering the BT doesn't provide ships in your strength range, but rather in your level range, it would be more accurate to his question to quote that as the average strength. Meaning yes, he is "on par" if not slightly below

That or it dislikes you lol, when I do find myself getting hit or retaliated against, its usually a Honey Badger or Dysonian, and even those ships, in the 500+ range, are below the stats Annabell quoted, and only slightly above yours.

I'd be surprised how many are like him, yet his are low? Meaning that most ships are low strength to you, or that he is low compared to most? You seem to be saying both at once unless I am misreading epicly.

I'd put my money on he is either a reset from the legion or that he spends money on the game to speed rank and because of his rank got into a decent legion with good base production for him to take use of. It is very common now a days. Just take the beating for a bit and let it go no big deal it happens all the time and just part of the game. However just remember this. While he may be beating you guys to a pulp he is most likely having the same done to him by others near his rank. lol
