am I to take it that the mark IXs are the highest level possible? the wiki says 800(and higher) so I guess that means there's no mark Xs right? because I got a FB gift card and want to buy them, but want to know that if I install mark IXs I won't find out immediately afterwards that there's actually a mark X

Nope. No need when autoranking. I didn't bother with relays either. Only the massive attack boost from those was worth it, that is about 8-10 USD. Would get them every time due to their efficiency and increasing the attack cap > 1900 per unit with drannik and buffs.

for those of us that don't auto-rank daily however the FATHERs are quite helpful....since I first installed mine I've gotten around 300K energy from them I wouldn't have had otherwise, with my current energy bar that's 37 refills

even though I can auto-rank I dislike doing so because I don't like clicking for extended periods of time

FATHER is good for some (or even most?) people. Radiant is definite YES for all people, but best at rank 800+ (cause why pay for it twice?).
