why must the gas planet be very sparse? and is that very sparse arti, or VS research? I'm thinking if your gonna get 8K ctp, you should be responsible for all work involved in the planet upgrades...

It's the only way to get a 13x, 13x, 15x (Res) Gas, This is the lowest availability, so the productions are the closest together... 8K CTP is the minimum..For a VM 13x Artifact planet, That is well below standards.

Does it have to be gas? I have a VM/VR Metallic.

Here's the point... all planets have all 3 types: mining, artifact, research... If a planet displays: Very rich mining, abundant artifact... it still has research on it but it's a 0% value... thus for Gas planets when you use the first terraformer it creates mining/artifact on the planet... example: Rich research then becomes very rich research, ex sparse artifact, ex sparse mining... so: Very Massive Gas planet Very Sparse Research + bunch of terraformers _____________________ Very massive Gas planet 16x Research 13x Artifact 13x Mining
Which is useful since the only other way to get a Very Massive/colossal+ artifact planet is through the use of quasi-spacial expanders which are obviously expensive...

I would pay for an arti 13x at 8K CTP. How soon can you do this?

Just for the record, VM oceans are not naturally occuring.. the only way that you could've seen one is if someone melted a VL icy and abandoned it..
