I think that Planet Flux artifacts should only be able to be used on planets that you've owned for 5 days. This way it would give players a chance to reclaim conquered planets, however they would still be able to be used against planets you've held for a long time - aswell as recently conquered planets that you've defended for 5 days. This would make this artifact alot more fair - so you get a chance for you and your legion to retake lost worlds.

What if the planet was originally yours? Does the 5 weeks you had it before count when taking back a planet that was stolen?

I think 5 days is too long. One or 2 days maybe.

I disagree, when a planet is stolen you can still alert it for 12 hours, given the planet is not fluxed right away, there is still window on which it can be reclaimed. Then the flux is worthless if recaptured. Or if you alert the planet while the attack is commincing you still have that timer as well to work off of.

Even though I too have lost planets that have been fluxed, I think the system is fine the way it is.

I agree, especially considering how rare the flux is now, it's not like somebody can go around taking a bunch of planets and fluxing them all immediately.

This is what I think given that planet fluxes have become a mission and very rare NPC item only (much like terraformers) a weeker version should be added to the game. This could come in a few different set ups:

If the game knows whoes an allie and not it can remoe an allie from the list of people that can see it.

If someone not in your faction and not on your friends list sees the planet gets removed (one for each use).

One that removes any and all who scanned it but has the drawback that it is shared to them and they have the ability to alert it once to factions mates for 48 hours after it gets effected.

Why try and fix the one that has been around and made nearly hard to get. So why not add a munch with flaws that can also get the job done past removing it from your own list?

Actually that's an interesting thought; the flux right now is defensive or offensive and very powerful, but a weaker version that simply acts as an additional layer after cloaking, when active (for like a week) prevents 1 person who would have scanned a planet from actually scanning it (causes scan failure then is discarded), makes sense as a normal artifact draw to replace flux, but cannot be used to take a planet then make it disappear. I really support this as it's for defensive use only, that's the only reason I ever wanted a flux anyway.

Well you can buy Planet Fluxes. And actually it is like someone can go around taking a bunch of planets and fluxing them all immediately - what would stop someone? Also you can't account for all the planet fluxes people had before the change and then just saved them up. I myself have two saved that I got before the change, but I'm sure more than one player has over ten. Planet Fluxes at their current power make it so players never get a chance to retake their lost planets - it's just gone automatically. With other artifacts like Crimson Cluster Missile that destroys defensive buildings - you could easily take then flux any planet no matter who controls it or what defenses the planet has. When you take a planet then Flux it the fight is over - there's nothing the other player can do but disable your ship for a day.

I think the planet flux is fine. Its a BS tool, it was designed to be and I believe it should continue to be. Any period of time to take it back that I think most would consider fair would be screwing over the fuxer. I.E. TK3 (a forum member) had one of his planets stolen by me. Through good use of artifacts and a Flux he was able to win it back. If I had had several hours to take it back and regain the scan he surely would have lost the planet.

Now as for people buying these things in mass. I think there should be a timer on how many of each Artifact (and maybe even group them and time the groups) should have a cooldown for buying them so CCers cant just overwhelm non-CCers by buying things as they need them. I think they should have to prepare for that.

+1 to that idea, I could definitely get behind a timer for Fluxes and Containment Missiles and the like.
