Here are my ship stats
Rank: 527
Size Class: Galaxy Destroyer
Space: 3201 / 3274
Attack: 6637
Defense: 9266
Scan: 1581
Cloak: 1030
I've research pretty much everything except the base modules, cloak modules the final reactors (which I'm working on) and topopolis rings.
What race should i switch to? I'm currently drannik and when fully buffed i have about 16k NPC attack. Should i change to Xecti, Taltherian or Konqul. Mission chain is irrelevant as I've almost finished both taltherian and Xecti mission chains. I have 3/4 Dominion MkIII canons and 2/4 composite rays. I'm pumping rank point into tactical officers.

My production is:
6820 mineral
8077 artifact
10759 research

Stats:
Player Kills: 621
Deaths from Players: 343
Non-Player Kills: 10525

I would say go for Konqul. Any attack is good, and since your adding Tacs, You get a better bonus.

Even considering the Xectis Invasion attack and defense boost? Not to mention the 3X planet event chance.

In the end the most important thing is artifact production. It boosts defense, hull, shields, research, decks and gains you rank points for TO/energy. The more you have the more you boost them.

I honestly don't see why you would choose any other race.

Most people put the konqul group as the race for invasion defense (or at least from the people I talked to) and unless your planets are poorly equipped their defense should be enough to keep off most players.

go for taltherian, gives good rewards along the way and the "urbanise" ability really helps

Look at it like this. Xecti either prevents Invasion of your planets or frees up space for more artifact production + it has the governor ability. Is it better than taltherian on a cost/benefit analysis.

I personally think races and abilities that reward your time are the best. For example, Vygoid and Excavator pay out every hour, every day, whereas the Xecti ability only pays if you're getting beat up, which is a situation you try and avoid anyway!

Getting disabled costs you nothing, so preventing it doesn't matter much. And while the bonus against invasions is nice, again, your bonus is only helping you if you get hurt. And with planets, you're already watching your best ones and Temporal Flux Orbing regularly - so the bonus will mainly be protecting weaker worlds or very-recently scanned planets that got pounced on.

And in the meantime, you're not getting any bonus that compounds with time like you would as a Talth/Kron/Mylarai, nor are you getting anything that helps you take more planets like with Konqul.

And while the Governor ability *might* eventually give you a good permanent ability on a good world, you're counting on the RNG to give you something good, rather than something guaranteed.

While it could be argued that people will pass on attacking you or your planets because of the Xecti bonus, again, this doesn't matter much, since getting disabled costs nothing, and a really persistent, big legion will get the planet anyway if they all attack. And remember that if your shields get sabbed away, 40% of 0 is 0!
