I don't know if this was ever posted; can't find a search engine for these forums. Is there a limit to shields or hull a ship can have?

Yes it's 5 Hull and Sheild modules so you can have 5 Titanium Platings and 5 Magnetic deflecters on at the same time

I mean number wise. Like can I have 5,000 or more shields if I want using artifacts?

Yes it is very possible to have well over 10k sheilds and hull.

The only current limit is what can be researched and shipsize.

the only things restricting the amount you can have at one time is how much space you have for hull/shield modules+how much each one can contribute. AKA there is no direct cap, its just a question of how good/how many your ship can fit before hitting the cap on hull/shield modules

So in actuality I can use as many artifacts I want that increase shields infinite amount of times?

Ok let me clear up the confusion.

There is no limit to how many much armor or sheilding you can have. But there is a limit to how many modules you can put on and how much you can research. All sheild or hull increasesing artifacts only work once. Hope this helps.

If I understand your question, no. Artifacts do not stack so you couldn't use 6 of the same artifacts at the same time.

Ah, so Xcharge Cells are very good. I like this game the more I find out. =D

Oh, I thought you meant things like nanite swarms which temporarly increase sheild and hull. Xcharge cells and Durtanium brackets can be used many many times. it is only limited by how many you can get.

I've had a lot of Durtanium Brackets and XCharge Cells as rewards during the course of the game. If you get them, use them straight way! There is no limit on how many you can have equipped.

Same goes with Android Officers.

And Android Scientists, Rescued Prisoners, Tesseract Container, Mass-Storage Pods and unless you are worried about deck space/damage issues, ship-bots.
