Deck space vs raiding?!

 A bit confused i recieved some advice that all i have to do is put all my upgrade points into decks and nothing else!
As i am playing PvP and a kongul raider all my raids are failing, well if i upgrade all my decks how is my raiding score going to get better during raids if i am not adding more crew members?! _________________   |

It's not , you need crew.

Right, here's how the advice to go all decks goes:
1) Get 4/5 decks per rank 2) Get high RP/AP. RP:MP:AP should be 2:1:2 3) Get a load of android scientist/helmsmen drops artifact drops. 4) Raid big ships for protean armories 5) Do well at raiding. _________________     |

this^^ i got mostly decks, but not ALL so i always win against massive ships.

I go 4 ranks pure deck, then 1 rank pure crew, depending on what I need.
I'm saving helmsmen for velox thrusters though, so I have about 60 crew in my cargo! _________________          |
