My intent with the added cost/upkeep was to make it a burden to get (thus perhaps a deterrent to people who aren't ready and more rewarding to get at the end?), and accentuate the "Big ships be expensive" aspect of the LSB. Essentially, you have to make a choice: want the % buffs and abilities or to save your cash? But I may have gone overboard on the price, and I'm glad you brought it up. My own upkeep is something like 11B, which is annoying, but very manageable -- and totally dwarfed by several other players I know who are above 35B. Would pushing upkeep above 50B for them be worth the benefits? Would it even be affordable? I dunno!

I dunno! my upkeep at rank 696 is already 8.375B ... mostly thanks to Vortov. i can maintain that with my current mining production as long as i do not invade every day.

Given the % buffs and abilities as well as the "prestige" storyline involved, maybe it would be a good idea to have medal requirements, as well as rank?

That's a reasonable addition to the requirements. Would limit these to the LSBs that are uber active in the game. 1500 medal points sounds good XD that or higher

+1 I think its nice that it levels the playing field a bit between SSBs and LSBs, and everything in between.

i like the idea + system i.e. unlocks with certain decks required, the rewards however with their upkeep and tbh not great ratios of space to stats, are not worth the extra decks. also their sizes are well very large to say the least... maybe rethink the stats and have some fixed % instead. that would be far better I think

I like the idea in general and most of the mod ideas but....
Anything that strengthens one play-style in any way or form would weaken the others, no matter how well thought out it might be.
That said, the mod vs crew stuff is rather out of whack at the moment so making mod/deck more relevant will probably be beneficial in the long run. Realistically I'd go for something more extreme because SSB crew count, or crew count for high end players in general, are getting unrealistic and stupid. But that would probably receive heavy backlash from the current player base, thou it might help the longevity of the game once we get through the storm.
On another note, have you taken Bio-Vap into consideration for troop pod? While the limited # of checks make it not too OP, directly going into the checking phase can be a bit much. Furthermore, each checkmark should only able to be procced once per 24 hours unless a cloning pod is used(in which case it resets). Otherwise, people could just bio-vap a planet, wait 2-5 min, hit it once for minimal dmg to get a check, wait again and so on. While it is risky(the owner might come back and see) to be so slow, on planet with HUGE population and/or already walled anyway this can be abused.

Absolutely a +1 from me.
I'm really tired of being penalized for being a big fish.

Bingo... thats one of the benefits of non-SSB life. 800 or 900 is a bit low, you can't max scan until a fair few decks higher than those would permit.

800-900 estimate was for reaching half of max repeatable scan. Which I think should be about right, but I haven't exactly crunched those numbers to be honest.

All of this is great. I really love the idea +1. However most of the suggestions are absolutely meaningless unless emp's are no longer stackable.

+ 1 to this. I think the idea of building up the LSB's is great. The other builds have their advantages, why wouldn't an LSB have it's own advantages? I do think some of the costs of purchase and upkeep and things may need some adjusting, but overall I think it's well thought out.

Why do people insist on saying that LSBs don't have its own advantages... of course they do. Yeesh.
