@Andy you are correct. I think Dan wants people to have a good chance of finding occupied planets as well as unoccupied planets. That way its kind of like a constant fight for your right to party. (on that planet)

RE: Are these planets fresh from the scan attempt, or from the planet list? Your planet list will include any planet shared by another player in your legion, which are often occupied.
They were from my own scanning. I've not managed to get anyone into my legion so that's not it. Suspect its the right to party example but 7/32 still seems a bit steep when 79% of something like 600,000 planets are floating around. That's 7 out of 32 found, not total scans.

Personally Iv only found about 20 occupied planets out of my 126 scanned. Which to me sounds like a good ratio.
Also Andy theres this thing called quoting, it really helps people know who your replying too.

How about adding one expensive artifact OR one high level mission that allows you to custom-name a planet that is only restricted to one custom name per account? That would be fun and players would feel little more attached and would want to name it to their homeworld..

Also can we get an update for the number of planets in the galaxy too.
The number has been the same for months now, the last time it was like that you said there was an error of some kind which prevented this number from updating, and so you manually updated the number.

Cloesdaddy wrote: actually that would be an easy way to add planets... have the planet creator automatically pull a list of the players names and create a planet based off the user's names!! yeah, and youll get planet named YourFaceSuck? (or something similar, there was a guy with name like that) hehe

Thinking we're living in a globular cluster based on the number of planets in the galaxy. If the galaxy were as large as the Milky Way based on the 100-300 billion star count in it there is an estimated number of planets that may go beyond the trillion mark since most stars in the galaxy are similar to our sun or smaller with several planets in orbit. I have no problem living in a globular cluster though, but maybe someday the game will reach such a popularity that there will be an event of "galactic collision where the globular cluster collides with another galaxy increasing the number of planets in the trillions. Or a new type of technology could be researched, maybe something along the lines of extra galactic wormhole drives or something for transport to nearby small galaxies.

Im Curious, if the planet seeder seeds planets at a fixed percentage according to type size and resouces at random does it mean that it takes into account what is already available in th galaxy.
What i mean by this is there are thousands of Tiny planets if the seeder keeps adding them their representation gets larger and larger as they are not consumed. most people would purge them as they are frankly useless and so far down the chain that they are simply not worth expanding. It would be nice for a mini expander that can convert planets from very tiny up to average to max say large, or even average. Some people may hold on to certain mega planets.
I cant imagine many people using expanders in tiny planets.
