Hull and Shield make up the "Health Points" of your ship, each has their own pros and cons.


Hull

Hull acts as the raw "Health Points" of your ship, once lowered to zero your ship will be unable to do basic functions such as completing Missions.

Pros

  • More space/HP efficient then shields.

Cons

  • Costs credits to repair (this cost rises exponentially with your rank and can eventually become quite large)
  • Can only be repaired every 5 minutes (without the help of Artifacts or Legion members)

Shield

Shield acts as an expendable amount of HP on your ship, once lowered to zero Hull will start to be reduced instead of shield.

Pros

  • Refills automatically over time at a slow rate. (can be refilled with Galaxy Points)
  • Does not require money to refill.

Cons

  • Less space/HP efficent then Hull
