Strength per rank: (2500+2200)÷180=26.1 How hard is my ship to kill: (((2500+2200+6800+500)÷560)÷180)=1.2ish.

(2872+2249) / 217 = 23.6 Time to reduce my non fixer 6.5k hull then.

Huh, didn't notice, I'll see what that yields me.

Using 1.0- 15.6 Using 2.0- 76 (Semi-buffed, could probably knock it to around 80+ if I fully buffed)

Strength to rank ratio according to old formula: (2872+2249) / 217 = 23.6
Strength to rank ratio according to sumwunn's formula: (((2872+2249+6484+799) / 652) / 217) x 100 = 8.7
As a Zolazin Saboteur, no buffs.

I think there are issues with both formulas
The first formula deals well with your overall ship strength- the second deals well well with how difficult to disable you will be
SSB ships are difficult to disable- but they are handicapped in two respects that greatly reduces their usefulness as a ship build- for a long time they will not be able to fit all the scan on their ship they need for planet finding, and their overall attack will be lower than it could be for invasions. Both of these hurt badly in the long run i think.
If you rely on your legion to help you for planets and cannot return the favour it does make you a tiny bit leech like- and although how guys play and interact with their legion varies between individuals this constant need for legion mates to help is a negative of the style of ship
I think the msb for all the annoying switching of modules has much more legs in terms of producing useful ships to make a legion strong
i have a large ship build and possibly am a little biased- but this is what i have seen

i have a large ship build and possibly am a little biased- but this is what i have seen Without a ton of AP/h, SSBs often don't have the attack to easily pound their way through someone of similar rank with a better normal formula either. In exchange, though, they can generally still kill the weak easily enough and they're an energy sink to all ranks. (Ex: SSB with ~300 decks and 2-3k attack vs. a 2000 deck build with 9-11k defense; I've seen both of these near my rank. At the same time, I've also seen some SSBs with 5-6k attack, which is pretty darn good, but they tend to be either extremely rare or have a huge amount of time played.)

asdfgr wrote: TBP? Seem close, 220 deck when she was at rank 200 TheBlackPearl is male, I think, and not exactly SSB BabyX comes to mind in terms of really strong SSBs - I think she had over 9k attack at around rank 300, the last time I probed, and quite high defense for her cap, too. I think Tyrne is another one? He's way out of my rank range, though, so no idea. As for the handicap, it really depends on artifact production; high artifact production means more star chart purgers. I can do mini scan runs every two weeks from star chart purgers pulled from artifact production - but again, they're mini. As in, 50-70 planets each time.... though sometimes, that's enough to snag a few good planets Anyway, as previously mentioned, the second formula is more effective as a measure of how difficult a ship may be to disable compared to others in the same rank range.

There are a lot of up and coming players who are strict SSBers. I myself have stuck quite regimently to the rank plus 19 deck build.
