Mission Briefing

Standard Mission Length: 3 days


Leaders have decided that a hostile takeover of Roathir is the best option. Meet with Quilu and execute a battle plan.

  • Note: This is a Phase 2 legion mission which is automatically initiated upon successful completion of the opening legion mission The Ardyne Sabotage.

Still, we must minimize casualties during the push.
We will do our best. What is the rescue plan?
We've arranged for Rescue Transports to shuttle Aerlen citizens into safe territory, but the transports will be vulnerable. Do you have ships that can provide escort?
Yes, we do.
That is good, but they won't have a chance without cover fire. Make sure your first attack wave is fully engaged before we send in the escorted transports
How big of a wave should we send?
At least enough to deal with 50 Cerulean ships. There are many more in Roathir, however.
What other tactical data do we have from the listening posts?
The Cerulean Conclave have seized control of the bases we had in Roathir. Although I wish they could be saved, they must be dealt with, as well.
You know those bases better than any. Any advice?
The bases use some of our prototype defense technology using target scattering. The scattering array is hidden near the port stabilizer. I recommend taking it out first.
Weapons?
In addition to their standard loadout, the bases have auxiliary missile batteries which might cause you some trouble. They are located above the central core... should be easy to spot.
Anything else?
One other thing. The bases are integrated with specialized computers that are able to adapt to incoming attack patterns. If you rely too heavily on a single ship to deal the damage, this could pose a problem.
We'll take that into account.
Many years of work went into designing those defenses. Now we are destroying them..
We may be able to salvage some of the technology from the bases. It would be a shame to see a loss of so much progress.
I agree, but there may not be time. Our priority is to save the lives of our people, not the research they left behind.
Many lives will still be lost.
And their blood will be on the hands of the Cerulean Conclave. A shame. Had their aired their grievances lawfully, their movement may have survived.
I doubt this will be the last of them.
I'm sure some have already planted seeds far from Roathir, but they will remain nothing more than a whisper. Today's assault will show them how we respond to betrayal.

Tasks

Task 1: Roathir Blockade (FAILURE THREAT)

Establish a perimeter around Roathir, and push any Cerulean ships back into the system.

Type: NPC hunt

Requires: Use a Cerulean Warning on a Cerulean Rebel. Cerulean Rebel. 30000 Shields, 25000 Hull, Attack 6000, Defense 20000 Battle tab duration 5 minuets.

This enemy will expire in: 5 mins

Rewards: Cerulean Displacement Drive on completion. Ship module: size 24: defense 160. If this module is already installed, this will instead upgrade its stats by 40%, up to a max of 200%. When fully upgraded, it provides a 4% defense bonus against enemy players. Note: Be sure Not to disable the Cerulean Rebels otherwise you will automatically fail Task 1.

Task 2: Setup Listening Posts

Roathir communications have been cut off. Setup listening posts at eligible locations to re-establish a limited connection to some of the leaders still inside.

Requires: Use a Listening Post Marker on an icy planet scanned in the last 5 minutes. 500 Energy per Listening Post Marker, 20 rounds per completion.

Rewards: Roathir Listening Post (1 on completion) Size: 1, Artifact: 1, Research: 4, Cloak +5%, Activated ability (2 charges): Listening Ping. +2% Scan for 8 hours. 1 per planet.


Task 3 (Optional): Aerlen Rescue

While the perimeter is being established, covertly enter Roathir, pose as an Aerlen bystander, and help some of the hostages escape.

Requires: 500 Energy, 5 Calming Amplifiers, 5000 Exotic Matter per round, 20 rounds per completion.

Rewards: Aerlen Patronage
