Mission Briefing

Standard Mission Length: 3 days


Leaders have decided that a hostile takeover of Roathir is the best option. Meet with Quilu and execute a battle plan.

  • Note: This is a Phase 2 legion mission which is automatically initiated upon successful completion of the opening legion mission The Cerulean Conclave.

Rewards (If Sucessful): 5 Relic Badges (awarded to all ships with completed, non-failed tasks)

Quilu: We cannot allow the rebellion to gain a foothold in this sector.

Quilu: Still, we must minimize casualties during the push.
We will do our best. What is the rescue plan?

Quilu: We've arranged for Rescue Transports to shuttle Aerlen citizens into safe territory, but the transports will be vulnerable. Do you have ships that can provide escort?
Yes, we do.

Quilu: That is good, but they won't have a chance without cover fire. Make sure your first attack wave is fully engaged before we send in the escorted transports
How big of a wave should we send?

Quilu: At least enough to deal with 50 Cerulean ships. There are many more in Roathir, however.
What other tactical data do we have from the listening posts?

Quilu: The Cerulean Conclave have seized control of the bases we had in Roathir. Although I wish they could be saved, they must be dealt with, as well.
You know those bases better than any. Any advice?

Quilu: The bases use some of our prototype defense technology using target scattering. The scattering array is hidden near the port stabilizer. I recommend taking it out first.
Weapons?

Quilu: In addition to their standard loadout, the bases have auxiliary missile batteries which might cause you some trouble. They are located above the central core... should be easy to spot.
Anything else?

Quilu: One other thing. The bases are integrated with specialized computers that are able to adapt to incoming attack patterns. If you rely too heavily on a single ship to deal the damage, this could pose a problem.
We'll take that into account.

Quilu: Many years of work went into designing those defenses. Now we are destroying them..
We may be able to salvage some of the technology from the bases. It would be a shame to see a loss of so much progress.

Quilu: I agree, but there may not be time. Our priority is to save the lives of our people, not the research they left behind.
Many lives will still be lost.

Quilu: And their blood will be on the hands of the Cerulean Conclave. A shame. Had their aired their grievances lawfully, their movement may have survived.
I doubt this will be the last of them.

Quilu: I'm sure some have already planted seeds far from Roathir, but they will remain nothing more than a whisper. Today's assault will show them how we respond to betrayal.

Task 1: Initiate Roathir Attack Wave

Before the Rescue Transports can be escorted, initiate a wave of first strikes against the Rebel ships.

Type: NPC hunt

Requires: Disable 10 Cerulean Rebels

Rewards: 1 Cerulean Flow Converter (on completion) [Planet Structure - Size:1, Artifact:1, Research:4, Defense:+25%] Activated Ability (2 charges): Flow Transfer. +10% ship defense for 24 hours. Limit 1 per planet.

Task 2: Assault Cerulean Bases

Enter Roathir, and attack the bases taken by the Cerulean Conclave.

Type: NPC hunt

Requires: Disable or receive a disable reward from a Roathir Cerulean Base

Rewards: 1 Cerulean Autosync Beam (on completion) [ Weapon Module - Size:24, Attack:130]] If this module is already installed instead upgrades it by 40% to a maximum of 200%. When fully upgraded an ability is also unlocked.
Activated Ability: Permanently increases your attack by 10. Costs 5,000 Exotic Matter to use. Cooldown: 20 hours

Task 3 Guard Rescue Transports (FAILURE THREAT)

Provide escort for the rescue transports as they enter Roathir and evacuate its occupants.

Requires: 300 Energy + 5 Sentry Guards (30? rounds)

Rewards: 3 Relic Badges (on completion)

Note: At least 50 Cerulean Rebels must have been disabled before starting this task or you will automatically fail Task 3.

Task 4 (Optional): Recover Base Technology

After a team has located a Cerulean Base, recover some of its technology before it is disabled.

Requires: Use two Roathir Recovery Devices on Roathir Cerulean Bases alerted by another legion member. (2 x 1,000 energy to complete)

Rewards: Cerulean Base Schematics (on completion) - Changes your base appearance to one similar to the Roathir Meridian Base also permanently adds 500 attack to the base can only be used on a level 6 or higher base. Cost to install, 500 energy.
