Mission Briefing

Standard Mission Length: 3 days
Image: Disturbance at Ryelis

Ryelis is a major industrial center. An unstable dimensional fissure has been detected within their core. This phenomenon is rare, and if unchecked, it could lead to the destruction of the planet. We've been asked to assist in the repair of the fissure, as well as the evacuation of Ryelis citizens during the procedure.

Rewards (If Sucessful): 4 Relic Badges (awarded to all ships with completed, non-failed tasks)

(RESTRICTIVE TASKS): One or more tasks in this mission require specific races or professions.

  • Note: Phase 2 of this mission (Cleanup at Ryelis) will automatically begin.: "The Legion Mission Disturbance at Ryelis was successful. As a result, a follow-up mission has automatically started."

Comm Log

Sarinth: My name is Sarinth. I'm the Chief Geoscientist for Ryelis.
A pleasure to meet you.

Sarinth: Thank you for coming. I will be coordinating the effort with your team. My colleagues will help lead the evacuation.
What caused the dimensional fissure?

Sarinth: We do not know. Our research shows that fissures such as these are not likely to appear within such a gravitational configuration without some form of catalyst.
What can we do to stop it?

Sarinth: Our research archives described that a similar tear was successfully repaired using converged chronostatic pulses.
Will that work in this situation?

Sarinth: Possibly, but the technique will need to be modified due to the fissure's position within the the planet.
What kind of modifications are required?

Sarinth: The pulses have to converge within a tiny margin of error. In the vaccum of space, this is not a major problem. However, we are dealing with the gravitational influence of a rotating planet.
Any of our systems should be able to handle such complex calculations.

Sarinth: Not without the help of realtime surface measurements. We'll need many analyzers around the planet working in unison. It is quite essential.
What about the pulses you mentioned?

Sarinth: They will be fired from cannons setup in various orbits... if we can get through the waste cloud in time.
You're referring to the orbital waste cloud?

Sarinth: Yes. Ryelis currently has 900 megatons of accumulated orbital debris. We were already planning a full cycle cleanup before hearing news of the fissure.
We have to remove all of it?

Sarinth: No, not all of it, there isn't enough time for that. Just help focus on the areas of cannon deployment and vaporize the debris there. We will resume the remainder of the cleanup effort after we close the fissure.

End Transmission

Tasks

Task 1: Remove Orbital Waste and Place Cannons

Before the Chronostatic Pulse cannons can be placed, a large amount of orbital waste will need to be targeted and cleared.

  • Note: Must be at least Rank 100 to start this task.

Task Type NPC Hunt
Requires: Disable 50 Ryelis Orbital Waste.
Rewards: Chronostatic Pulser Size: 19, Attack: 80, Energy: 25. If this module is already installed on your ship, this artifact will upgrade the existing module by 40% up to a maximum of 200%.
Scrap value: 7 to 13 ctp; Upkeep: 42.5 million per day

  • NOTE: With 50 containers to disable at 15000 Hull each and a max limit of 500 damage per hit on them regardless of how high your attack is or defense debuffs you put on the container, the combat alone will cost 7500 Energy at minimum. Try to have at least 15000 energy in reserve before attempting this.

Task 2: Evacuate Ryelis Non-essentials

(RESTRICTIVE TASK)

Leaders have asked for assistance with the evacuation of all non-essential Ryelis inhabitants. Beacons will need to be placed at nearby habitable locations, where dropships will land and establish temporary housing.

  • Note: Must be an Explorer, Guard, Excavator, or Biologist profession and at least Rank 300 to start this task.

Task Type: Planet
Requires: Place a Ryelis Evac Beacon on a nearby habitable* planet. (20 uses) (habitable: Can only use on Terra, Gaia, Ecumenopolis, and Dyson Planets that you occupy)
Completion Requirements: 12,000 energy (600 per use)
Rewards: 3 Relic Badges, ZERO XP (on completion)

Task 3: Construct Ryelis Analyzers

In order for the pulse cannons to converge accurately, analyzers will need to be placed around the planet to relay realtime measurements.

  • Note: Must be at least Rank 80 to start this task.

Task Type Mission
Requires: 400 Energy, 8000 exotic matter, 5000 research points (20 rounds required)
Completion Requirement: 8,000 Energy, 160,000 exotic matter, 100,000 research points (Total)
Rewards: 500 xp per placement (10,000 xp total) and 1 Ryelis Analyzer (on completion): size: 1, artifact: 2, research 2:, cloak +5%

Models of Success

The following table shows the kind of participation/progress shown to get varying types of success chances. Please note, This is a work in progress and data is in process of being collected (see forum topic).

There may be instances where it seems like there is a big gap in the number of ships on a task. This is not necessarily a requirement, only the most current data available. There may also be different combinations of spread that bring these chances. Partial completions also may be factored in these cumulative requirements. Alternate combinations will be recorded and posted as well in an effort to record the minimum amount needed for varying chances.

  • High Success theory:
 task 1 full / equivalent completions : 9
 task 2 full / equivalent completions : 8
 task 3 full / equivalent completions : 13
