Daily Mission Briefing

Our agents have reported back from their mission in Gantry Virtue. Though they managed to covertly board the Mortiya, their search for her came up empty.

Mission Dialogue

Ba'ryl: She wasn't on-board.
What?

Ba'ryl: I'm telling you definitively. She wasn't. My agents were extremely thorough.
She must have been transferred. Damnit

Ba'ryl: Its not entirely a setback. Though the rescue failed, our mission at Gantry Virtue provided some critical information that may lead us to Vvarix.
What else did you find?

Ba'ryl: Of the various data modules we gathered from the Strazi, some contained remote archive access codes for a number of ships... it looks like they were sharing research data.
Including the Mortiya?

Ba'ryl: Indeed, but the access is restricted to an interface with a linked Strazi ansible, which we do not have time to acquire. Fortunately, we didn't need one... my agents were on the ship and could access the logs manually.
Did they find out where Sileena was transferred?

Ba'ryl: The archives didn't contain data that fresh, but we found records to a number of older transfers of prisoners to Vvarix. We are in the process of calculating a general location with Ravyn's help.
The Stryll and Terran Outsiders are on high alert from our attack on Triss. They may already know our plan.

Ba'ryl: That is true. They will be careful moving fleets in an obvious pattern, but make no mistake: Vvarix will be guarded like a fortress... if not already.
We may have missed our window of suprise.

Ravyn: Hey, I think I found something.
Ravyn, what is it?

Ravyn: I've been cross-referencing the data from the archives with my contacts, and one of them recognized an area: the Krenn prison sector.
What is significant about it?

Ravyn: My contact was in a Krenn prison camp for many cycles, but the place was eventually evacuated, due to what he later learned was a "severe gravitational anomaly"
Though not common, anomalies appear in many areas of that quadrant.

Ravyn: True, but this one intersects travel logs that appear in the archives many times. In a few of the instances, the Mortiya made stops in Krenn for extremely long periods of time. I assume other ships did as well.
But if the prison there was abandoned...

Ravyn: Then something else took its place. This anomaly could have been the precursor to the development of Vvarix. It all seems to fit.
Any ideas on how we get there?

Ba'ryl: An anomaly as large and complex as Vvarix is going to wreak havoc on short-range sensors. I have experience with gravitic compensators. We just need to stay hidden long enough to get close.
We can't get away with another diversion this time.

Ravyn: Even with the upgrades, our cloaking won't be a match for the concentrated forces they'll have in the area. We won't be able to stay hidden long enough.
Our fleets can't risk a full assault either. Sileena wouldn't survive.

Ba'ryl: We may not need to. During our recent incursion, we managed to capture a small Strazi scout vessel.
Fully operational?

Ba'ryl: It's damaged, and its ansible was destroyed in the attack, but we can use it.
Without the direct comm, how are the Vvarix security forces going to verify us?

Ba'ryl: I'll pose as a Strazi pilot, like this one, returning with vital information after the attack. They will be able to verify that the long-range comm was destroyed by our weapon fire.
I like the look, but how do we know this ship has business in Vvarix?

Ba'ryl: The navigation logs are beyond repair, but we know it communicated frequently with the Mortiya.
A stretch, but it could work.

Ba'ryl: We'll need to make some modifications for the both of you while you are on-board... we won't be able to hide you completely from their ship-wide scans once we arrive, but I can obscure your readings within the pods in cargo.
Obscure them how?

Ba'ryl: I'll make you both look like dead crew.
Oh How fun.

Ba'ryl: Once within the region, we won't have much time. While it should be obvious which ship is doing the insertion into Vvarix, I don't yet know enough about it to formulate a way to stop it.
Leave that to ravyn and I.

Ba'ryl: Fine. I'll get you as close as I can. This will be our only shot.
