The Raix Effect: Chapter 6

During the Garathon incursion, a wave of Crimson Cutlass ships attacked a Tej-Sheel research base. After the base's valuable data was stolen, the facility was then destroyed. Krydul is adamant about getting the data back, as it represents a breakthrough that could help end the war.

Daily Mission Briefing

The incursion into Garathon was a success, but during the mission, the Crimson Blades attacked a research facility within our borders. The timing couldn't have been worse: that particular location was preparing to announce a major development.

Mission Dialogue:

This would normally not be a setback, but the research was of vital importance.

>What happened ?

Only hours after your departure, one of our research facilities had reported a breakthrough: a new compound was able to neutralize most of the raix withdrawal and side effects from several participants. The facility was about to transfer its data when it was attacked.

>By the Crimson Blade allies ?

Yes, and much too swiftly for us to counter. We fought several off, but were not able to prevent the facility from being destroyed.

>I'm sorry Krydul. If our ships were not busy in Garathon, we could have properly guarded that region.

Well... Fortunately, the Crimson Blades stole the data. One of the surviving ships detected the transfer but was unable to intercept it.

>Fortunately ?!

Yes. It could have been forever lost in the attack. Now, we have an opportunity to get it back.

>I see. Any idea of where the ships went ?

They retreated back into Tej-Brask space. The ships were Cutlass class frigates.

>It may be difficult to track them at this point.

Our sensors have pinpointed the general area that they are located, but we have to act soon.

>This research ... It has the formula you've been looking for ?

We'll need to review the findings, but it could be the cure, yes. If the Tej-Brask can no longer use raix to control their people, their power will fade quickly.

>Could that end the war ?

Not directly, but... it would have a major impact.

>What effect did our Garathon assault have ?

We've been able to accelerate our progress on the production of the next weapon. We should have enough supply to complete it... ahead of schedule.

>Let's hope we don't have to use it.
