The Raix Effect: Chapter 1
An extremely large explosion has been detected in a remote, unpopulated region of space. A small team has been dispatched to determine the cause of the blast and gather further data.
Daily Mission Briefing
Long range sensors have alerted us to a massive explosion at the far edge of sector T5. The cause is unknown. Given that there are no significant stellar bodies in that area, this warrants a closer look. I am transmitting the coordinates to you now.
Mission Dialog
Head there immediately to investigate.
Is there anything else you have been able to detect about the explosion?
The energy output is like nothing else we've seen. 6 separate relay stations detected it.
Were there any ships in the vicinity ?
We cannot determine that at this range, which is why we'd like your ship to take a closer look.
Is it possible that it is some kind of industrial accident, or weapons test ?
There are no known weapons or technologies that can produce explosions of that magnitude. If this is a man-made phenomenon, we need to know who and what caused it.
Understood.
Thank you, commander.
