there are currently 397 thousand soemthing planets the universe in real life constantly expands shouldnt there be more planets constantly being made? Eventually it will come to a point where we scan and the planet is already occupied as more players join?

The size of the universe is always expanding (and the expansion is accelerating), but the amount of matter and energy is constant. More matter is being converted to energy than energy to matter, and that energy is being spread out over a larger and larger area. Thus, over time there is less matter and less star formation, resulting in less planet formation.

So using the logic of our universe, fewer new planets should be created every day.

Perhaps it's better if we let the game be a game and not reflect the real world

More planets are added, when more people start playing the game. Watch the number of planets at the start of the week see them at the end of the week. Though more there are harder it is to see the difference.

Don't forget that there are so many planets with inactive players. You shouldn't dismiss those planets as uncolonizable by you..

I often saw planets with player with same low rank number for weeks so I went ahead and conquered good ones and they never spoke back.. Those planets are better used under active players like us.

Sort of... I have a couple of really nice planets that I've scanned and are owned by people less than Rank 20. They haven't moved in a while. My guess if they quit playing. My hope only hope (I think) is that someone their level takes it and ups enough levels that I can take it from them.

How long can inactives hold on to a planet before they disappear from the system?

Forever but they lose their immunity when they hit rank 20 OR 2 weeks whenever comes first.. It's ok for you to invade those planets off those players who don't play GL much at all.. They are just not serious about GL.. Those planets are better off in hands of much more active players.

I just uped my scanning to 1236. Scanned and brought in over 30 planets. It had been about a month since my last scanning.
Found only two planets that where Rich or better and they are occupied by members of my legion
Today was a bad scanning day!!!!!!!!!
I'll just have to search for the planets such as mentioned above.

I found an exotic around rank 30...

Zophah if you lose your nice planet don't blame us in this thread -- just blame yourself for putting a big bull-eye on yourself regardless of your rank -- I think if given the opportunity I would make an exception to my rule of not attacking others (real people) although I might have to get a little help.
I really think it stinks that you found an Exotic at rank thirty and I at rank 113 with over 120 planets scanned have at never scanned better than one Extremely Rich planet and 2 Rich planets.

Aparently someone already tried to hack me from this, and he hit my quantum firewall. Afterwards I disabled him (without going below shields) and raided an Exion from him. And that was without ever sending for help. (and don't you dare I'm in DOO now)

Yes, sorry, I was an *** when I said that. Though when I said that I meant I was able to deal with the hacker without acting like a crybaby and sending for help. I have never sent ship notifications unless they were too big to get them myself. I have even had my personal revenge (without artifacts or ship shares) against an opponent 15 levels higher than me. He took one of my terras. The only reason I stopped was because he sent his bigger-brother legion member at me.

good webguydan(good god ^^) you are really unlucky, but at the same time, you have to use the game to overcome what you are missing. pour more research and energy cubes into scouting more planets. (rank 70 with 80 planets scanned, a week from my next scan burst which should put me over 100-120)

I refuse to believe people have such bad luck... This is why i share extremely rich planets liek 4 times a week with legion allies i have tons of planets extremely rich at least 30 of them which i didnt even colonize for some reason all i scan are volcanics its weird.
