I have the kalvium mission on my list because I completed it once while it was available, but now I can't access it because I haven't completed the prerequisites in the chain.
The problem is I'm getting tons of kalvium asteroids, got most of the kalvium I need, and Im a looooong way off from being able to use it.

Same for me, but not really an issue, asteroids gets killed in 3-4 shots for me. Give good xp too  _________________

Remember you need to finish all missions before it.
So untille you do it will be there for doing a part of it, but will not be usable till you do.
If anything it is time to pick up the artifacts needed to finish while you go back and do the missions before.

I have the same issue, thankfully these kalvium asteroids DO expire. I've been killing them anyway and just scrapping the deposits, you might as well do the same

There is almost no chance of that; no mission-specific NPS drop has had other uses, and it would be pretty unfair to everybody who has already completed it.
