 Artifact Recycling ability

The GTC is heavily overpriced for most things being sold there. So the measly amount of cr you get back from scrapping is basically worthless to most players.

Interesting idea about being able to recycle 1 artifact and get ap back for it, using an ability with a CD.

There's still a crap ton of artifacts sitting idle and unused in the CTLab. Anymore recipes added to the existing CTLab would be quite terrible because of the infinitely high RP costs...


It would give players who no longer need the research something else to do with it. I'm rank 754 and have done all research except the last 2 levels of hyperlogistics. Certainly other players would have oodles of research they could use on a new CTLab discovery.

That is a poor way to fund credits for the GTC when I outlined earlier that Artifacts are depreciated in value according to their scrap values. You could sell them off for so much more.

You COULD, but you're guaranteed to get what THE GAME says artifacts are worth, by scrapping. You get 5-20 times the AP cost of an artifact in credits. That's not depreciated, every other means of trading is inflated. These values define the relative worth of each item, and they are not going to change.

So, once again... If you CANNOT "recycle" crap into ship-building artifacts, there is no point in even having this feature. If you CAN "recycle" crap into ship-building artifacts, it is so overpowered it is ludicrous. 10 Cloning Pods to make 1 Rescued Prisoner artifact? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. If you want this to actually get added, the relative values of the artifact list would have to be redefined. If that were to occur, you'd be needing A LOT more AP to get a Prisoner (and other ship-builders).

As said before Dan could implement a way to track artifacts that have been sent and prevent them from being recycled. And, for the last time, It will be a huge lump sum of artifact points the first time around because of the previous artifacts already stored up. Plus someone mentioned about a way to keep this feature in check with an energy/EM requirement for each artifact scrapped.

You're right, unless your odds were lucky. And the last time I checked don't you get Cloning Pods in a set of 3?

The artifact values DO NOT have to be refined. If you only get a small portion of AP returned per artifact then why would they even need to be refined?
