 Space Stations.

Can we have space stations that we dock with for safety and recharge our energy at a faster rate ... Maybe for an in game cash fee or points.

A new tab for space stations could open up a whole world of possibilities and new options.

Eventually we could even own our own space stations and use them to guard our planets, store extra res or even invite others to use their facilities.

Any thoughts anyone?

I had thought of this a while back and the Space stations could help defend the planets as well.

It would have to come with a price though.

It's something that would be costly to build in real life so it should in the game as well.

If this was implemented in the game, both Exotic Matter and Tech Parts would be needed.

We could also make them better by buying Modules for GP like we do bases.

I'm not sure what else they could be used for but all that is needed is an imagination.

As in like minibases that have their own stats, be stationed by a planet to bolster its stats (but can be disabled separately) and have their own upkeep/modules/production and such, raidable like for their own unique rewards and such? Personally I think it's a great idea. They'd certainly make mining somewhat relevant again.

maybe our planets could be arranged into solar system like things and each solar system got a base. the base would improve production and attack and you could build fighters to store in the base and help with planets being attacked

A great idea KNIGTBIRD these would be really useful when HIGH level players decide to attack low level players planets giving us a little extra help agaisnt them.

We could also add extra unlockables in the collective theory lab to help improve these space stations.

Yeah thats all true. But with the cost thats why legions were made, so they can support thier team-mates and give them the funding for a while either that or more mining planets.

Hmm tough question. Personally I wouldn't as it would of cost a lot to build and upgrade, However you could disable it and raid for a prize depending on station level and also invade the planet.

When you say, "dock in for safety", what exactly do you mean? Do you mean docking in stations hides you from bt or does the station add to your att/def when attacked while docked? I dont think I would support either of these scenarios.

There have been many other ideas brought up for faster energy recharge which have all been shot down. I dont think Dan wants our energy recharging any faster than it already does.

We should be careful about making these too much like "mini bases", I'd rather see improvements or new features added to existing bases rather than see space stations introduced. Besides, most of what can be done with space stations could be done with the Homeworlds idea which i would rather see put in than these space stations.

We don't want them too base like as they will be to hard to pay upkeep and repair costs.
We could probably pay 5gp? to hide us for a certain amount of hours, preferably while we sleep or something like that.

This is hilarious, the idea was really rather interesting to begin with, but I'm totally sold at the revelation that people would pay 5 GP per hour or whatever to extend their Halcyon effect. :P

To make it fair if we're paying GP to stay "safe", I don't think it should be possible to Invade, NPC, PVP, Base, nor do Missions while docked or under the docked effect, and you shouldn't be able to Guard any other planets during the duration of the docked effect either, since you're elsewhere docked with the Station and all.

Lastly, you shouldn't be able to dock unless you've not performed any offensive actions within the last 24 hours and enhanced recharge rates should not exceed 120 per hour.

    P.S. If it's not a giant GP Halcyon, I'd give some much better suggestions, but it should cost Upkeep regardless.

i reckon its a good idea. as in i like the ideas about the solar system, and the fact that is can have its own... productions, so to speak.

expanding on the solar system idea, i reckon you should be able to have say, 1 station per 10 planets (maximum of say, 10 stations). i think that they would be helpful, but they shouldnt help out in the way of producing resources, but showing a total of all productions from the (10) planets that are connected to the station. maybe it should have a service terminal so to speak, giving buffs as in '10% def boost to a random planet for 3 days' for a price, like using ability points in a legion base.

maybe after its reached level 2 or 3, then maybe there will be an ability unlock which says 'energy recharges 2% faster' or +2% (choice: artifact, mining, research)
then maybe an npc which drops an artifact needed to upgrade that bonus to '+3%' up to a max of maybe +10% boost. something like this could be used maybe to buff scan, such as +5% scan per station level (3?), up to a maximum of 15%. maybe when the base hits a certain level it adds a permanent 2% bonus to scan while scanning.

i also think that you could have your own 'battles' with them, like a one on one battle, and as a disable reward, you gain the co ordinates to one of the planets that the station was guarding/protecting. that way it will help protect peoples planets, as in if you bricked up the station with dysons and rifts ect, then your guaranteed to put maybe 2 major planets, then 8 not so good, meaning that your having to think about what your doing.

with upgrading the station, i think it should be a personal task, non upgradeable by your legion, like the legion base. by all means they can send you the resources, but they cant contribute themselves.

i dont think it should be a 'player buff' station, as in gives you disable protection as such, i think it should be for planets, just cause if you get rank 2000+ (example) hiding in completely upgraded fully buffed bases, theyll be pretty much invincibile.

personally, i think that its a good idea, but i think it will be best if its done so its for planets, not to buff players attack/defence.

I like the idea about having stations that u can post around planets and such and I also agree that their should be a max. the first few levels should be cheap so even low levels can get em, but after like level 3 or so they start getting pretty expensive, and also the more stations u have the more expensive they get. But no being able to hide in them for safety, thats just crap, we have h traps a calming amps for that.

agreed on that part, don't need any further things to help hide from pvpers. but the overall idea is good.

We have moons small and large which increases planet size.... Why not have one ie a space station which can increase production and size and defence of a planet?

We all have those 16x mega toxic with no defence because we wan't to get the best out of it so why not build one of these stations on it to help with defence. I still think the space stations are a good idea.

Perhaps this station can only be deployed on a planet, this way reaping the docked benefits while guarding.
