With the new addition of the ability to skip missions for GP, it seems like an appropriate time to suggest something I've been thinking about for a while - a Legion-specific bank for storing GP. Rather than a single member having to shoulder the cost of a base upgrade or mission skip, players could contribute any amount of GP to the legion's bank, and then the legion could pay for things out of its own central horde.
Stipulations: Two really important ones - GP can't ever be withdrawn or transferred, by *anyone.* Anything put in the bank is in the bank forever - no take-backs, no giving it to other players. GP could only be spent on legion-specific items. Base upgrades, mission skips, mission speed-ups/slow-downs, other such things that might be added later. No buying ship modules for your buddies
Almost as important, discretion to spend the GP should likely be kept to leaders only. Anyone could deposit, only leaders could spend.
The bank wouldn't have to be used to make such purchases - if someone wanted to buy a base module and slap it on themselves, they certainly could. The bank would simply be a way to pool resources if desired.
What do you think?

What do you think? Okay idea but ifGP is deposited by individual players what difference does it make to have a bank or not.. People could use the GP allotted to them when they start a new account to jack up the bank amount unless the cost to deposit was at least 10 per deposit

Sounds like a good idea to me. Most of us that don't purchase GP probably have a couple odd GP floating around that we can't use on anything anyway.

And the logic behind the bank is that while a base module might cost 100 gp, a single person might not want to spend that, but 50 people would probably be willing to spend 2 each.

I like this idea. The principal is that one person doesn't have to spend 100 GP on their own to buy something. It would be spread among several members (doesn't have to be everyone in the legion) Just like you could find 50 people willing to spend 2 each, you could also find 5 people willing to spend 20 each, or 10 willing to spend 10.

I still think you're going to run into the same issues.

I like the idea but it dose seem like it would be abused.

Minimum deposit of 20 gp. Going to need at least 2 dailies of 5 gp and I've had 2 in about three years. If someone wants to create an alt or alts they would most likely get banned before acquiring the full 20 gp. People may piggyback off others though but its not forced. possibly have a limit for the bank so if things go bad someone won't rage that much about losing 1k gp or something similar.

There could be an upper limit to what the bank could hold too, maybe like 500 GP.
I know not everyone in the legion would contribute, that's not a problem. But for people who spend GP, they might either willingly buy some for the legion, or toss in leftovers. 'I have 75 GP, I spend 64 on an RT - what can I do with 11 GP? Eh, throw it in the bank'
Plus, if people are quitting (aka, all the time) and have GP they want to give to the legion, it would be a way they could do so.

-1 Sounds to me like another Exploit for High end Rich players. Sounds good "IN THEORY" but i know how people can circumvent the rules to their own benefit. But you need not worry. It's no secret Dan caters to the super rich in this game so you'll prolly get your upgrade your asking for, and ALMOST ANY idea that makes Dan GP credit money will probably get implemented.
