Did Dan change the rules about badges from hacking ?
if not this must be a bug


I was able to replicate the error (but took me some time to fail another hack), even set off a Quantum Firewall Trap on this one

It's not something new, its been that way for as long as i can remember.

As for whether its a bug or not, well it has been brought up before and its not been fixed, so i guess it works the way its meant to.

and dont get a badge

proberly did 30 to 40 hacks yesterday, and around 330 hacks the week before that without getting this error

Well as i said, i've been getting badges for failed hacks forever. I'll just wait for someone else to showup and confirm that, rather than continue a back and forth, because it really is just us two atm.

However in the mean time, here are two separate threads, showing its been around for at least 7 months now.

Can you confirm that you actually get the blue badge and that it's not just a display error?

I belive you, but it's just - I have done 1385 Successful Hacks, and that's the first time I see this
all the other hacks where my ship was detected and blocked I didnt get any Badges or set off firewalls
but I was able to do it 2 times today......

still need around 900 hacks or so to max my Bainar, Systems Cracker, so don't mind getting badges for a failed hack
but would feel like cheating if I didnt report it, as I see it as a bug



you cant contorle when you fail a hack, so didn't look at battle marked just before it and just after, so cant be 100% sure
but as far as I can tell, Yes I did get a blue badge from that failed hack


had to do 30 hacks before I faild again and could get that SS,
but did I do 29 hacks + the failed one, or 30 Hacks + the failed one ?
to be honost, I didnt count them, only looked at battle marked from time to time, to see how many badges I Had picked up

Looks like things are back to normal again

got a "Hack Unsuccessful. Enemy Ship's systems detected and blocked the hack" result, without getting a blue badge Today

i can confirm this as I've get one before. Like those forum links, I tripped a QFT while unsuccesfully perform a hack.

That's why I think this has something to do with QFT

I can confirm I hit a quantum firewall trap, and I can also confirm that I received the blue badge, as I had just looked at my badge count before performing the hack.
